Hey Diogenes, another thread where you can rant about Favre.

I’d say I told you so, but I’m not that way.

Fuck that, yeah I am! Who else but Favre to win that one? (Second year in a row we beat the Vikes in the Dome!)

How’s that Dome curse working out for ya?

WHOOOO-HOOOOOO!!!
Yeah, baby!

And I’m doing everything I can to keep from calling Dio on his cell to rub it in.

Damn Christmas spirit is robbing me of a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Yep, my home town team certainly are proving themselves to be Brett Favre’s beeyotches.

Thank God I’m not a Vikings fan, but Dolphan instead!

Oh, wait :smack:

Green Bay Packers!! The only champion the NFC North has ever seen!!

Yep.

Yeah I know that our secondary couldn’t tackle an asthmatic octogenarian…and that Favre is up and down.

But we most certainly are not the Vi-Queens, Choking Lions or Midgets of the Midway.

I’ll enjoy this until we get thumped in the playoffs.

All this game showedwas that both defenses suck. Ours just sucked last. The Pack had some help from the stripes as well. How about that free time out before half time?

How about knowing the rules?

A player is entitled to ask for a measurement if the spot is close to the first down marker. It was (less than a foot or so by my eyeball), so the official granted the measurement.

This was only explained about 5 times by the various announcers. They even pointed out that granting measurement requests was a “special point of emphasis” this year.

Nothing like a sore loser…or someone who won’t admit that he was wrong…

The spot wasn’t that close. It was obvious they didn’t have the first down. It was just the usual Favre-friendly officiating.

You’re an idiot.

I just fast forwarded it back on the TiVo. They were short by LESS than the length of a football (it appears to be about half the length)

A football is less than a foot long (cite)

IOW…the spot was 6 inches from the marker.

That’s close enough for a measurement…which is what the announcers and officials thought.

Enjoy your sour grapes.

Hey kids…here is a photo of the spot that DtC claimed “wasn’t that close”

spot

Rather pathetic of him, eh?

It was short enough that everone in the Metrodome could eyeball that it was short. No one thought it was really a first down, not even Favre. The only reason he asked for the measurement was to stop the clock. It he’d been wearing purple he’d have never gotten a measurement. The officials in the NFL take care of the Packers like nobody’s business. Especially when they play the Vikings. Yes, I am bitter.

Go Pack!! Anyway, we’ll get our come-uppance in the first or second round of the playoffs. As soon as someone competent can sodomise the secondary.

Dio, if the Diebolds, er, referees were so pro-Pack then how come they’re setting team records for amounts of penalties in a game/season?

And how did you get home so quick after spending the afternoon with Duff?

Clearly you are bitter. Last week, I forget exactly who (but I think it was during the Jets game) there was a measurement request honored on a ball that was well over a full yard short of the marker. The announcers joked that the official didn’t have long enough arms to actually signal the distance it was short.

This griping about the measurement is just petty. Once you accept that the Vikings truly do suck on their own merits, you’ll feel much better. :stuck_out_tongue:

Plausible deniability. They get the calls that matter…like that phantom holding call on Matt birk during the Vikings last possession.

I had to cancel my trip. My little girl got the flu and then gave it to me. I’ve needed to stay close to a commode for the last couple of days.

Screw that. Now you’re grasping at nonexistent straws. And looking weak doing so. Case in point.

Anyone remember the 15 yard facemask on Driver near the sideline? The Head Linesman was looking directly into his face 3 feet away when it happened. It too the Back Judge, 10 feet away and behind the play to see what everyone else did.

Man, I knew Queens fans whined after being slapped down by Favre, but this is just embarrassing to your cause.

A toast to the only NFC North champions. EVER! MUWAHAHAHAHHAHA!

The schedule dictated a meeting for next week, not today. But things happen in life, so there may have to just be a Cities DopeFest in the next month or two.
I’ll wear my #4 jersey.

One more thought.

Let us not forget this was a game played on Christmas Eve. What better way to see God’s greatness than to have the only winning team today be allowed to use His Initial as a team logo?

It’s almost like a sign.

I was watching the game with an evil smirk knowing that Dio would be getting roasted again. Nothing personal Dio, you just make it so much fun for all the Packer fans.

Ri-i-i-ight.

Like the bad call on the touchback in the endzone? Or the non-call on the interference against Donald Driver.

GREEN BAY PACKERS…2002, 2003, 2004 NFC NORTH CHAMPS!!!

The Packer fans can now celebrate, for they are guaranteed a home playoff loss.
