Because that’s what every white supremacist has in common. They’re all complete failures as individuals. That’s what attracts them to the ideology - it lets them claim credit for other people’s successes
I’m happy to not give a shit about a combat star. Is there some implication that military service means a person can’t be an asshole? Or does it mean that we’re supposed to respect assholes if they’ve been in the military?
If the answer is yes to either question, that’s a huge part of what’s wrong with our country: it signals that we’ve gone beyond simply respecting people who do a difficult, dangerous job and moved into an arena in which criticism of the military is not allowed.
But I don’t think the answer is yes to either question. I think the reason we’re supposed to give a crap is because an asshole reasons like an asshole, and only an asshole would think military service would keep someone from being an asshole.
It’s not so much that he was in the military, it’s that you’re on his lawn.

I just find it profoundly stupid that people will accept racism by a minority without question. As I am given to understand Caucasians are not a majority anymore. I doubt it. People who have real military experience have served alongside people of other races. And in extreme situations like that, you learn what’s real and what’s bullshit.
