Go back and re-read the thread, dumbass. Nobody was doxxed. When Ambivalid first came here, he used his real name. Someone mentioned the fact that that was his previous name – which isn’t against the rules – and he went apeshit. Nobody was trying to dox him, or anything like that.
Nobody doxxed Ambivalid but Ambivalid himself. By his logic, it would be doxing for someone to link to an older thread of his, because it contains his real name.
That was his own stupid fault – it’s too late to complain about it now.
Wrong. Ambivalid wanted a certain level of anonymity after he realized that it wasn’t in his best interest to have every post of his linked to his real life. On a board like this where hostility is actively encouraged and contentious topics are discussed and some of the posters are legit mentally ill respecting anonymity is still the classy thing to do. Speaking of class…
And? Many of you have photos that probably can be linked to you in real life that are archived. Do you think it’s legit to image search and start posting your personal information? At some point, and I know it’s hard for you deranged folks to understand since it’s your live’s work to be petty, nasty, and vile, certain information ought to be off limits.
‘We want this the board to be safe for the womynfolk and we’re going to cry about Maryann vs Ginger threads and we want newcomers to feel welcome and want to join.” But any newcomer browsing or lurking and seeing how people are treated and attacked will probably be discouraged by you cancerous pit-dwelling troglodytes.
If I posted those images ON THIS BOARD? Then yes, I would say it’s legit. Nobody went and searched anything out on him – they mentioned things he himself had posted RIGHT HERE. People bring shit up that I’ve posted before and you know what? I have no one to blame but myself.
If he wanted anonymity, he shouldn’t have used his real name in the first place. You cannot dox someone who already doxxed themselves. That’s all on him.

I’m kinda awful at infosec. I’m sure if someone wanted to, they would have absolutely no trouble, on the basis of my posts here, finding out who I am, where I work, and sending my boss choice snippets from the workplace rants thread. I hope we can all agree that that’s shitty, right? Even if all the information was “public”.
Bollocks to that. Kam just posted a matter of public record. How the fuck is anyone meant to know whether his past use of his name is a problem for him or not, short of reading through all of his posts to see if there’s a backstory.? Especially when Ambivalid has just chided someone for supposedly not remembering who he is?
If Ambivalid had wanted a break from the past he could have explained to the mods why he wanted to create an entirely new account, and thus move on. If he’s really that concerned about connecting his former public posts to his current ID he should have done 5 minutes of research into how message boards work, see what the problem is, and taken appropriate steps.
And claiming that posting an identity that anyone doing a board search for Ambivalid is going to discover is doxing is just a pathetic attempt to stir shit.
Not sure why Ambivalid wanted to derail this thread rather than start his own pitting of Guin if his issues with her are this big, but he’s got no-one to blame other than himself for how things turned out.
Except this is entirely different. Someone mentions that Ambivalid used to use JM as a user ID, which is then claimed to be an invasion of privacy because somehow the whole board is meant to know Ambivalid is trying to keep that a secret…even though he clearly lists the same name in his contact section of his public profile?
That is so far away from the sort of behaviour you’re discussing that it’s a complete non sequitur.
