Hey Mets Fans!

See today’s game? No? Let me recap. Bottom of the 9th, Mets lead 5-1, Benitez pitching. Braves struggle back to bring the score to 5-4 but there’s two outs and bases loaded. Franco is in to face Brian Jordan. He makes Jordan look bad and runs the count to 0-2. Next pitch Jordan goes deep.

Yep. Jordan got a grand slam and Franco looked like a dog that just got kicked. And you know what Mets fans? It’s all your fault. Remember the last series our teams played? Remember all those Mets fans making fun of the Braves ‘chant’? There’s a little something called karma and it bit you in the butt today!

The Braves may not hold the division, they may not make the playoffs, but today was worth it all.

Yes, I suppose the Mets’ season is over now. And the Braves have a right to crow about their victories.

But, man, the way they played their last 30 or so games was pretty exciting.

And don’t tell me you weren’t worried, even up through the ninth inning today. When all is said and done, they were a threat. It’s over now, but they. Were. A. Threat.

I don’t know that it’s over. The Braves certainly haven’t sealed the division and the Mets still have a numerical chance (I think). None of the three teams in the east really belong in the playoffs after this year’s performances.

The Braves may blow it and folks will come in here and try to make fun of me but I won’t care - today was my World Series.

sigh

Dang Benitez.

Well done Braves. As Dave said, at least we made a race out of it.

I need to tip my cap to the Mets. I had you guys counted out 3 months ago. You certainly made the NL East interesting. But holy cow, was todays game excitement or what? Well, probably moreso for Braves fans…

Now we need some help from the Marlins – beat those pesky Phillies again tonight.

Wait till next year!
