Tuba, my roomie just registered for the SDMB. He’s under the handle Seikel 16. Probably gonna lurk mostly. But we share his comp (at least for the next week or so) and we’ll have the same IP address.

Maybe a bit of explanation is in order.
We use IP numbers to track problem children; it’s one of the tools we use to evaluate a situation.
We do NOT throw people out for having the same IP number.
If you don’t misbehave here, you’re cool; if your friend is a good netizen here, he won’t have any problems.
Probably 99% of the folks here are good as gold and never encounter any problems; it’s that pesky 1% that makes life miserable for all of us sometimes. It’s because of that nasty 1% that we have the forum rules that we do. And that’s a shame. But that’s the 1% and not the greater majority of you folks.
So please, everybody, relax already. And that 1%? Go away, kid, you bother me.

Since you are on the topic of the bottom 1%…
I keep seeing posts by people who are banned. WTF??? Their status says BANNED, but it seems they can still post. This has been bugging me for a while and I did not want to open a new thread for such a quick and easy answer so I thought I would hijack a thread really quick, and give it a couple bumps to the top while I am at it, and ask you. Thanks.

The status listed refers to their current status, not their status at the time of the post. Those posts were made before the person was banned.
Oh…well are you sure? Yesterday I saw a person who has been BANNED but their post was about 5 minutes before mine. Maybe it was coincidence that they JUST got BANNED right after I saw their post. Well thanks.

Accidents do happen, but usually when someone is banned, they can’t post.
