I think the mods have been doing a fine job, yesterday and today, of maintaining some semblance of sanity here during an especially trying time. Kudos to Unc and all the rest of 'em.

I think Uncle Beer shows great restraint. In his heart of hearts, I know he would like to rain terror on the guilty party…BUT like most folks the need for accurate information is imperative before taking action.

Please read my thread in MPSIMS…you may not agree and that’s okay but this is a scary time here and I think rather than hate and anger we need to express love and thoughtfullness for those that lost their lives. Soon we all will heal, with the sadness to remain but now is not the time for anger, in my view.

Lizard, it might help your judgement to understand that at the time of the posts in question, the Mods here were faced with the enormous task of filtering a lot of fast-paced posting, right after the disaster. I would also imagine that one could not be sure that internet connections would hold under the strain of traffic, so decisions had to be made quickly.
UncleBeer did a good job of quick damage control, in my opinion. The posts were made a couple of hours into the fray, when everyone was feeling a tremendous shock and swirl of emotion. Muad’dib’s posts were carelessly constructed and without any substantiation, so served as unconstructive gossip. Perhaps, at a later date, in, as UncleBeer indicated, a different forum, it might have proved an interesting discussion. At the time, it was out of place.
Thanks, UB, and all Mods, for doing a fine job yesterday. I know it ain’t easy ever, but your level-headedness kept this place a sane place for all. I came here late yesterday, and was impressed.
