Hey, was the Pink Panther gay?

One of my favorite cartoons while growing up in the 70s, he swagged his hips, he was so very suave and debonair, he’d sashay so cool as he walked… Then, there’s this picture:

I mean, c’mon!

(If you haven’t figured it out, let me bonk you on the head with this hammer: I’m being tongue-in-cheek.)

What, is there something wrong with that?

I figure he was modelled after David Niven, who was in the first movie. Niven was debonair and suave and had a very effeminate way about him sometimes, but was not gay.

Nope, he’s not gay, just English. And please don’t say “same thing”

why does a guy all in pink be gay?

He was camp, which often goes with gay, but not necessarily. (Mind you, I don’t ever remember seeing him with a lady panther.)

It was the 70s. Everything seemed a little gay.

I was expecting someone to do a “Gay or European” song from “Legally Blonde”

I seem to recall him wolf-whistling at Capuchine’s name in the credits, so he must have been a horndog.

Only in the dark. All cats are gay when it’s dark.

Here you are: Pink at First Sight-Kiss the Girl:

I never found him “gay” (not that there is anything wrong with being gay). He just had naturally cat-like moves.

Snerk.

Perhaps he was gay in the archaic sense?

The Pink Panther was straight. Snagglepuss was gay.

No, but looking back… Snagglepuss was fabulously flaming.

Ninja-ed by 5 mins.

orcenio obviously meant to write “fabulously flaming, even!”

Well, he had two sons, so I go with not gay. But yeah, Snagglepuss, on the other hand…

Swished to Cafe Society (from MPSIMS).

He wasn’t pink because he was gay; he was pink so he could pimp Owens Corning insulation:
