QFT. Between our Samsung fridge and our Samsung “SMART” TV, I won’t buy Samsung again.
Don’t Samsung TVs have cameras in them?
Happy anniversary, Mom! cute kids.
We’re at the little house but we’ll be going back to the valley tonight. My wrists were/are so swollen and painful this morning that no projects will be getting done anytime soon anyway. I can type, slowly, but have no grip strength and can’t bend my wrists without a lot of pain. Wifey, the world-class diagnostician, says she thinks I have rheumatoid arthritis. I hope not, but we’ll see.
I even called my doc and got an appointment for Monday.
Johnny, I’m so glad I don’t have to drive in that muck every day anymore.
I’m gonna go try to take a shower. The hot water will feel good, even if I can’t hold on to the soap.
@FairyChatMom I love your wedding story and enjoy it every year!
Two beautiful grandchildren make for a nice anniversary, don’tcha think? Add in a big boat and its just about perfect.
Congratulations on it all
Howdy Y’all! We had all the sup stuff I mentioned earlier for N.O,L. just cause. I even managed to achieve nappage before goin’ to the doc. I had to go to the vampire while there, but for just one draw to check my PSA. I will leave it to the curious amongst you to google if’n you want to know. Now 'tis chill time.
Evening all. Dinner has been dined upon and TV watched (Soccer and Godzilla: King of the Monsters) so readin’ and internettin’ are set for the night. Got another in a long line of folks sending me packages and requests to donate money to this or that charity–it irks me, I do give money but on my terms and to groups I know and research–you’re wasting cash, folks, sending things to me (the USO is really becoming a pest). Ah well, at least it gives my shredder a good weekly workout.
{Bumba}. I’m having some lower back pain, but nothing like what you are experiencing. Hoping the Doc can help.
Flyboy, remember days like that in Northern Ohio…not fun, but as long as everyone drives slowly and courteously…HA!
OK, that’s all for now. Everybody have a good night.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off for more double heaving. We’ve been out early the last 2 days. I fear the worst.
HAPPY FAIRYCHATAVERSARY!!!
And of course Roxstar loves Tobias. Every mad scientist needs an Igor.
So say we all.(also good in a milk shake with some Patron XO coffee liquor. the “Double Buzz”)
I hate driving in snow. I was going to have lunch with a friend in Prescott Valley today, but they were expecting snow around threeish. I’m retired, I don’t like driving in snow and I don’t have to drive in snow, so I canceled lunch.
I picked up our surplus box and we got a dozen eggs, a big bag of chicken thighs and legs, pinto beans and some freeze dried hash browns along with a bunch of stuff we didn’t want/won’t use. They also gave me a $25 grocery store card despite me being on their B list. (Low income folks are A list people, those of us who show up at the end of the week for leftovers are the B list people.)
Instead of waiting to take our leftovers until 11 so I could drop them off and then have lunch with friend, I took them into town right away. I saw a few flurries, but no build up. It didn’t start raining here until about 3 and has been drizzling ever since.
I got my second shingles shot while I was in town. Despite the big news today being Omicron found in our county, nobody was in line for COVID jabs.
George is 11 months old today, and 12.2 lbs. He’s sooo long that when he sits he has a big hump in his back. His growth has slowed down but his energy levels haven’t. VBC has pancreatitis so needs a low fat diet, low protein diet. George needs a high fat, high protein diet. VGC needs a regular diet. This is going to be fun.
Happy Anniversary FCM and what a sweet picture. Enjoy them being nice to each other while you can cause you just know Roxie is going to smack Toby some day. They are siblings after all!
I’m so old that I met hubs through an ad in a swingers magazine cause there wasn’t any intertubes back then. We exchanged letters we wrote by hand and sent through the mail. We lived about an hours drive from each other which we thought was great. We could have happy fun times at scheduled times without worrying about drop-in visitors when we had a headache. We did NOT want anything more than a friends with benefits relationship. He moved in with me a month later, we got married a year after that. Its been 34 years, so yeah, long courtships aren’t for everyone.
Public Service Announcement??
< snerk >
Yeah, I know, it’s a man thing.
Back from looking at lights and petting animals with Roxy and her mom. The petting zoo had a camel, a horse, a donkey, a calf, a goat, and an alpaca. All were decked out in holiday finery - the camel sported an antler headband! Roxy pitched a fit when it was time to leave, she was tired and thirsty, I guess. But she’s her parents’ problem. I’m home where it’s quiet-ish.
Yeah, that’s what I’m afraid of. She’s a force to be reckoned with and so far, he’s way more chill than she was as a baby. The coming years will be interesting…
FCD predicts someone will shave someone else’s head some day…
OK, time to assume the recline position.
We just cut each other’s hair because we weren’t allowed to touch Dad’s double edged razor. I still think that pinking shears do a lovely job on bangs.
My baby sister didn’t start talking until she was around 4. She had 3 big sisters who talked for her and didn’t need to make the effort of doing it for herself. When she did finally start talking, she spoke just fine and Mom was heard to wish that she would stop again. That’s my long winded way of saying that Toby might be slower to talk than Roxy, but don’t worry about it overmuch.
I’m not worrying, or really comparing, other than noting immediate differences in the early months.
One thing in the back of my mind, tho, goes back to when I babysat some neighbor kids. Debbie was a couple of years older than Johnny, and she was definitely the dominant force. I’d ask Johnny what he’d want for a bedtime snack, and he’d immediately look to Debbie to get the answer. Even as a barely-teenager, that bothered me. It’s not that he was letting her go first - he was expecting her to make his decision. I sure hope he grew out of it - I left home a few years later so I have no idea what became of them.
OK, for reals, I’m outta here…
I wasn’t thinking you were worried, I was sharing a kinda funny to me story. Kids are weird. Their relationships to each other are weird.
Sleep well, i’m heading to bed after dinner. I’ll bet if I whine enough, hubs will load the dishwasher for me but I will try to get up the strength to do it myself cause I’m a good wife.
Five months is when it first happened with my perfect grandchildren, so just about a month ago. Baby Sorenson was laying face up on the floor, with his grandma making googly lovesick faces at him, Hattie comes up from behind and wings a baby board book at him, hitting him right in the face. Nary a word of complaint or warning, just flung it at her defenseless brother. Red mark across an eyelid, a swollen bump and red mark across the bridge of his nose, a minute or two of confused “what did I do?” crying by baby brother, soon soothed (big sister was whisked out of the room for A Talking To by her Papa).
When baby brother was dropped off at day care the next day the chagrined parents had to explain it to the caregivers so a mandatory report didn’t have to get made to Child Protective Services. Of course, Sorenson had to go into to the pediatrician for something else a few days later when the bumps and bruises were in their full purple glory…more explanations needed. Big sister hasn’t been arrested….yet.
The funniest part of it is I had to not smirk, knowing that the mother of said children had done quite similar to her baby brother 32 years prior, leaving him with a rakish scar he carries to this day on his handsome cheek. Just did not seem the moment to remind her of the family history.
So, FCMoooom, you’ve got a month or two max before the big sister wrath is unloosed.
My second sister wrote on the walls. Mom knew which one it was because she always signed her masterpieces. In time, my second sister was winging to Mom about her second child writing on the walls. Mom “choked” on her coffee and went to the bathroom to laugh her butt off.
So you’re saying it’s 50% chance Tobias is Igor, 50% chance RoxStar cyborgs him with stuff she makes in Granddad’s shop?
Happy anniversary Mooooooom and FCD!
I hope that you get some relief from your sore hands soon bumba.
I don’t envy you your snow flyboy.
Irked, came home took Nelson to the dog park (he got to play with schnauzer brothers Hunter and Kaiser and his buddy Ollie), came home, et , took a brief nap and am now surfing.
I got word this morning that one of my cousins in Indiana (he just lost a sister and nephew) lost a son to a combo of Covid and a heart attack. Kevin was in his early forties, a vaccine conspiracy believer and poo-poohed masks. Still, his loss will leave a hole in the family and his dad has really had it rough in the past month.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Or she wings a baby board book with heard edges at his nose and eyes, triggering reports to Child Protective Services. My daughter is really dreading the next time she has to take Sorenson in with any kind of mark on him. They believed her once……
Actually, my daughter’s attack on her baby brother was more blood thirsty so if it ends here we may have gotten off easy.
All the Christmas gifts to my daughter, my sister, and their respective families are wrapped, boxed, and shipped. Did I mention I drew and stenciled Christmassy stuff on the box that had to be sent nekkid? I have to wrap gifts for son and wife yet, but hopefully they’re coming down, so I don’t have to mail them. I also went with my friend while she did some Christmas shopping. I met an adorable puppy at one shop. His owner tongue-tripped and called him a “spocker caniel,” and that’s my new favorite dog breed.
I walked errands this afternoon. Tripped on an uneven square of pavement and landed on my hands and knees. I’m a bit scraped and bruised, so I’m having some Liquid Pain Killer (the kind that doesn’t list ingredients and is measured in proof).
FCM, love that photo. Tobias looks like Roxy just told him the Shocking True Story of how he got made. I believe her version involves a Claw Grab arcade machine and an evil security guard.
I don’t think my older siblings bashed me, but they did scare the bejeebers out of me by telling me ghost stories about recently deceased relatives. I had insomnia as a child. I wonder why.
Happy Chativersary to FCM and FCD! Happy 11-monthiversary to George, aka Stretch.
A monster movie involving Godzilla and soccer would be an international blockbuster that’d earn billions. Throw in Mothra and David Beckham and you could fly in your liver sausage directly from Wankendorf.
Oh yeah, I’d be the first one to rent it because I’m not going into theaters anymore. Not because of covid, because of jerks who won’t stop talking or texting.
I forgot to share his birthday pic. Gormless George does lurve his MIssy.
She hasn’t puked yet today and we’ve come up with a plan on how to feed the three of them separately. Hubs says that VBC will start eating her prescription food if she’s hungry enough so says he won’t allow her access to anything else for a couple of days. Hubs buys milkbones to feed to the neighbor’s dogs and complains when I’ve forgotten to fill the birdbath, I know he won’t be able to refuse one of our pets food when they beg.
I’ve been on the jungle searching for collars and feeders that need a tag before opening. Hubs will see my searches so maybe he will come up with the idea of buying them each their own feeder and collars.
Me are now going to bed, hopefully I will wake up with no shingles shot after effects, but if I do, it will still be better than getting shingles.
