Let me be the firs… er … 8th to welcome you to the straight dope message board, kaemicha. It’s an interesting place and if you’re like me, you’ll read many many more threads than you’ll ever post in. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Nothing too personal of course, for instance your username is unusual, can you tell us where it comes from?
PS Don’t be afraid of the knuckleknobs talking about the initiation rites, nobody has died of the initiation yet. (That anyone can prove.)

Ok, about me. Luckily, I have two cats, so can I stay??? I have pictures of them, too! They’re my boys.
I’m over 50, but not the least bit old. Single, by choice. I was married but my ex passed this last summer. I don’t have any other kids outside of my kitties and the neighbor kids, who seem to think that my house is theirs, also. That’s a good thing. I like those kids.
I no longer have to work…YAY! I love to travel, watch and go to sporting events and I like most all people.
I’m excited to explore this site and meet more of you and again, Thanks for welcoming me into your group!

Well, now, they don’t absolutely require perfect spelling or grammar over there, so it could have been a valid question of fact…in general…to everyone…
And, no, I’m not and I haven’t done that since 8th grade and don’t particularly miss it.
