Palpatine and Sidious are the same person. This is hardly a secret, and it is hidden only in the sense that the movie protagonists never realize it.

How do you figure they’re the same person? Senator Palpatine seemed genuinely sencire and all. I suspect he’s Sidious’s clone, which he can control, thus have a say in the Galactic Senate
