Yes, the Lee spelling is much more common in the U.S. and Canada for both Chinese and Korean families. Partly because the choice of spelling often predates the pinyin standardization, partly because it’s a more natural romanization in an English-speaking country - it’s an English language family name too, with the same pronunciation.
Bwahahaahhahahahaha. Nice one, dude.
Okay folks, I need me some help understanding this high-end business.
Please help fight my ignorance.
The link in the OP contains screenshots of the “modeling” service’s website, and there are some odd things posted there.
-
There’s bad grammar.
The advertisement says “we have a some change!!” (yes, the exclamation points are included, free of charge). This is not the proper grammar I would expect from a high-class business. It sounds like a Nigerian prince email.
Which raises a vital question to which I must learn the answer: how high-class is this operation, really? How is it possible for a true gentleman to engage the service of a high-class “model” if she does not know proper grammar? -
The screenshot shows 3 options for renting the services of these “models”.
These are
–30 min
–1 hour/1rd/2rd
–1 hour 30 min
So what does 1rd/2rd stand for?
To guess from the order of printing, an rd ( whatever it is) is apparently a bit more than 1 hour, but less than 1hr and 30 min. But beyond that logic, I cannot divine. So please fight my ignorance yet again. -
The screenshot lists two types of id which are welcome: P411 or TER.
What are these unknown id cards?
And more importantly, are P411 and Ter id’s only for rich classy people who use high-end “modelling” services? Or could I get one, too? Please fight my ignorance yet again, lest I feel horribly discriminated against, and complain to the EEOC that I am being unfairly denied such services, -
The second screenshot shown in the OP speaks of two options offered by this wonderfully high-class modeling service: GFE, and BB.
Once again, my fellow Dopers, I beseech thee to save my soul, and to fight my ignorance. Yes, verily, I say unto thee, I have figured out that GFE stands for “girl friend experience”. But the screenshot speaks of “upgrading to BB”.
What is this upgrade? (and how may I benefit from it?, lest I once again feel discriminated against and obligated to file a complaint with …somebody)
- And finally, my dear Dopers, please fight my ignorance about the price.
The screenshot says that the “modeling” services cost only $240 to $640.
This is within my price range for an evening’s entertainment.
Yet I have noted above that I am being discriminated against, and would undoubtedly be denied access to such high class amusements
So please tell me: what is the [i]real[/i} price?
I remember many years ago, there was a scandal with New York governor Elliot Spitzer forced to resign because he used a high-end escort service. The standup comedians made fun of him for spending $5,000 on a hooker, saying basically “just how horny do you have to be to pay that kind of money?”. Note that this was in 2008, before the stock market crash.
How much do these services cost today?
Again, I feel discriminated against-- for both being unable to afford, and unable to get horny enough, to make use of such services.
I await enlightenment on these vital issues.
Also,(seriously):
Really…how did so many high-ranking officials think that they could get away with this scheme for long? They apparently used their real id, their real credit cards, etc. It must have left a paper trail which is undeniable.
Does anybody here know in real life any truly high-ranking leaders who live this kind of lifestyle?
I don’t care except if a) any of the prostitutes were unwillingly forced into prostitution; and/or b) any of the johns were family values, sanctity of marriage cultural warrior elected officials.
So that’s why Robert E. Lee betrayed his country - he was Chinese! It all makes sense now!
That’s sarcasm, of course…
The problem is that some of these people may be compromised in a variety of ways mainly because prostitution is illegal. Whether government personnel or executives in public corporations the public has an interest in making sure information is secure and decisions are not influenced. Legalizing prostitution wouldn’t end the ways people can be blackmailed and extorted but it would reduce them.
Rd could be round. So you pay for one round or two. I think you can work out what counts as a round.
BB is likely to mean bareback. Yuck!
Best guesses only from me, no inside knowledge from either side of this business.

P411 or TER.
What are these unknown id cards?
…hmmm… my algorithm ads are for sure going to be interesting the next few days… Online “trusted customer” verification networks in the sex work business, that allow for the customer and the provider in the transactions to know they are not going to rip one another off.

Again, I feel discriminated against
One thing to bear in mind, is that what is “high end” price tier for people making Senior Executive government scale is not what is “high end” price tier for Wall Street and Wall Street-adjacent figures.
Also, since you cannot really advertise prostitution services, you only can advertise the base hourly rate for the ostensible modeling/social escort company. Anything else is “privately negotiated”.

The high-profile customers paid a membership fee and submitted documents, including driver’s license photos, to be verified for the chance to pay up to $600 an hour for sex, under the guise of modeling shoots…
I always wonder in these cases what would happen if somebody set all this up and then actually tried to just take pictures.

I don’t care except if a) any of the prostitutes were unwillingly forced into prostitution; and/or b) any of the johns were family values, sanctity of marriage cultural warrior elected officials. -
I’ll guess very near 100% for both.
TER = “The Erotic Review”, a website where prostitutes are rated.
BB = “bare back” = no condom.
And GFE is girlfriend experience.

1 hour/1rd/2rd
I’m not sure about what the letters stand for after 1 and 2, but I suspect it means a different price for reaching an… outcome… once or twice during the period of time.

One thing to bear in mind, is that what is “high end” price tier for people making Senior Executive government scale is not what is “high end” price tier for Wall Street and Wall Street-adjacent figures.
This “high end” idea seems to be more marketing by the police than anything else. If anyone remembers Two and Half Men, Alan asks Charlie what $200 would buy him from a hooker. Charlie replies “crabs, and carjacked,” and that a more reasonable price is $1,500. Probably by “high end” the police just mean that the women have a more permanent spot than street workers. The clientele are probably mid-level professionals, not powerful politicians. But who knows, Bob Kraft (owner of the Patriots) was caught in a $70 rub and tug place in Florida, so anything is possible.
I can’t seem to embed a youtube video, but here is the Two and Half Men bit.

Made me think of this comment attributed to Lord Birkenhead, the Lord Chancellor of England:
A 1924 entry in Evelyn Waugh’s diary states that an English High Court judge, presiding in a sodomy case, sought advice on sentencing from Lord Birkenhead. “Could you tell me,” he asked, “what do you think one ought to give a man who allows himself to be buggered?” Birkenhead replied without hesitation, “Oh, thirty shillings or two pounds; whatever you happen to have on you.”
Twenty bucks. Same as in town.

Probably by “high end” the police just mean that the women have a more permanent spot than street workers.
Good point – a way to make it more “newsworthy”. By creating curiosity on the public as to who would have been the customers, and talking about “elected officials, military members, doctors and other people that federal prosecutors say were using service”. When as you point out, in that range it’s probably not anyone you or I ever heard of. What if the elected official is a New Hampshire state assemblyman? There’s 400 of them and they make $200 a year.
I’m assuming so, too. Any politician who has criticized other people’s sexuality are absolutely fair game. If they get a say in other people’s sex lives, I get a say in theirs.
There was a similar situation in Maine back in 2012. A Zumba instructor was running a brothel out of her studio. The names of a hundred or so men who were her clients was publicly release. The people involved included a mayor, a coach and a pastor, so locally scandalous, but not nationally noteworthy. I will be surprised if this one turns out any different.

I agree. Outing people is wrong with the exception of prominent hypocrites. Fuck those guys.

I lived in south Florida in the early 1990s, and we had a major scandal there as well. A woman was using her home for prostitution, her husband (a county sheriff’s deputy) was her pimp, they kept records on most people using her services, and they recorded (unbeknownst to the clients) many of the sessions.
The first client’s name released was a county politician who ran on a platform of wanting to close shops that sold porn. Porn shops are bad, but paying a bleached blonde with fake boobs for anal sex was fine, I guess.
Fun aside is that I actually knew one of the guys whose name was on the list of clients. I knew his wife better, and I have no idea why he would want to cheat on her.
