High-Risk Sex [With a Girl]

Hi my name is, xxx xxxxx, I’m form the the UK and I’m 22 years old.

I went to Pakistan about 9 months ago for a holiday anyway, I was there for about 9 months I was feeling so horny so I paid for sex and had sex with this female twice and she was a prostitute - I had a condom but she said she didn’t want to do it with a condom so I asked her you ain’t got AIDs or anything have you she said NO - But like shes not going to tell me if she has.

Anyway I had sex with her twice in the same time period I came once then waited about 2 minutes then had sex with her again.

Anyway I haven’t been more a AIDs test or anything like that and I’m not planning on going for one either I’d rather not know if I had AIDs.

So you guys seem like experts on this subject what are my odds of getting AIDs?

Or I’m I just worrying about nothing?

If you had AIDS, you would know it. You would be feeling pretty sick. You may, however, be infected with HIV, the virus that caused AIDS. Today, HIV infection is treatable, and can often be prevented from progressing to AIDS by the proper drug regime. Unless you want to die prematurely, I guarantee that you do want to know if you are infected with HIV. SO GET TESTED.

If you are already infected with HIV and receive no treatment, a near certainty. We do not have enough information to know what your odds are of having been infected with HIV, but there is obviously enough risk to warrent getting tested.

If I were you, I would worry *a lot * about my level of ignorance concerning HIV and AIDS, especially if I were as prone to risky behavior as you seem to be. You really need to educate yourself on the matter.

Maybe your next sexual partner would rather know.

What, are you looking for a figure? Or are you looking for someone to tell you not to worry? Would low odds make you feel any better?

You had unprotected sex with someone who probably has unprotected sex with many others. You shouldn’t have done it, and you should be concerned. Go get a test. No-one here is going to tell you anything different.

OK, thanks for the info. I’ll got for a test.

Didn’t know sex was this dangerous - sex should come with a government health warning.

Female-to-male transmission of AIDS is actually much less common than Male-to-female transmission.

By the way, are you circumsized? A recent study suggests female-to-male transmission risks are lower for circumsized men than uncircumsized men.

That said, that was a very stupid thing to do. AIDS is not the only incurable veneral disease – how about Hepatitis and Herpes? You should get tested for everything under the sun before you spread something to an unsuspecting partner.

It was a stupid mistake I made - at the time I didn’t think about it much.

Yes I’m circumcised as am Muslim its a religious thing.

Er… didn’t you go to, like, school? Where they teach you about Sexually Transmitted Diseases? And how they’re bad, mm’kay? At least hand out some sort of pamphlet?

:smack:

I didn’t go to school much - my dad used to teach me. Actually my mum taught me geography. So like he never mentioned that.

My dad didn’t agree with evolution being the source of are creation - so he decided to teach me him self. On most subjects.

Number one: Wrong type of question to be asking, I’m sure this thread will be closed soon.

Number two: If you’d ‘rather not know’, why are you asking?

This just goes to show what parents achieve when they decide to “protect” their children from the “bad, evil” influences of sex education.

Well, then, you really need to get out there and read up on sexually transmitted diseases. There’s a lot more than HIV you need to worry about. Read here for starters.

You make a very good point. Would you like to know when you are going to die?

But I am going to go for a test after reading previous posts. This thread will get locked? wow I’m asking a serious question. Its not like anyone is being profane or rude. Obviously I’m a little ignorant on the subject some I am asking a question isn’t that the key to learning? and to getting rid of ignorance…

Why would the thread be locked? Sure, it kind of asks for medical advice, but no one is responding in an inappropriate way. Everyone is telling the OP to get educated and/or tested, in one way or another. That’s a good thing.

If would be another thing if someone was telling the OP that he has nothing to worry about, or that AIDS can be cured with homeopathy, herbal remedies or mystical rituals.

I don’t think that there’s a complete ban on medical-related questions in GQ, and I think that’s the correct rule. (I’m sure someone will fill me in if I’m wrong on this.)

True, but having unprotected sex with a prostitute is about the highest-risk thing a heterosexual male can do, aside from having sex with a prostitute who uses IV drugs and has unprotected sex with bisexual men.

I was just stating the facts as they are known. I did say it was a purely stupid and dangerous thing to do.

If you did contract HIV, getting tested and getting treated can allow you to have a perfectly normal life for several decades – that’s a much better option than just letting the disease run its course.

As the studies in the links indicate, a man can have unprotected sex with an infected woman hundreds of times and still not get infected himself. Being on the receiving end of anal inercourse is much riskier.

Here’s Cecil’s Straight Dope column on What are the odds of getting AIDS from ordinary heterosexual sex?. Admittedly, it’s from 1988, so it’s not the most up-to-date info.
