The basic story: a teenager is off to camp and tell his sister to “STAY OUT OF MY ROOM!” What follows is an utterly hilarious group of staged photos of the family being in his room. The entire family gets in on it - parents, grandparents, friends, etc. They then posted them on Facebook, where I can only hope the kid saw them while at camp.
I’d rather not get into a debate about whether they should have invaded his room or not, but as someone who grew up with four older brothers in a house with little privacy and who was gently teased like this, these crack me up.
I would have made some staged ones that looked like we had discovered a lot of bad things with dad making an angry face and mom crying. A box of guns under the bed, a blow up doll in the closet, bags of drugs under the mattress, etc.
I just looked more closely at the Toy Story one and noticed some great subtle details - Jessie’s passed out from drinking Sam Adams, Hamm’s drinking Patron Silver, and Slinky’s smoking a joint.
I think it’s hilarious and very well done, but I’m a bit suspicious about the background story. First, the realization looks very professional, so there must be at least one member of the family who’s very good in design and photoshop. Also, all the family members look and pose like professional models, so at least it must have taken a lot of effort for a simple prank on the son. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the persons involved has some ambitions in design/photography and uses this stunt to promote their work. That would be totally OK, but I just don’t buy the summer camp prank story.
On that point, I was wondering about the picture of the girls painting his room- did they really go through all that trouble and paint a pink swatch on his wall? The others didn’t seem to mess with his stuff too much, but that one was surprising.
