Saw some excerpts from her emails during her SoS tenure. Wow. The insecurity and the vanity…
“I heard on the radio that there is a Cabinet mtg this am. Is there? Can I go? If not, who are we sending?”
“I arrived for the 10:15 mtg and was told there was no mtg,… This is the second time this has happened. What’s up???”
“In thinking about the Kissinger interview, the only issue I think that might be raised is that I see POTUS at least once a week while K saw Nixon everyday … Do you see this as a problem?”
Back when Dubya was president we had a liberal poster named Reeder (I think) who posted on every. single. detail of Dubya’s life. To the point where even people who agreed with him were sick of it. We had to hear about Dubya’s daughters, about every word that came out of his mouth. He could never do a single thing right.
I would expand it more to “liberal stuff” in your case. It’s like the one poster we had who kept on and on and on about the travails of socialized health care, oh no! To the point we all stopped listening to him.
Concur, Wolf. Anyone who sees “insecurity” or “vanity” in those sentences has never worked in a corporate environment, and a government bureaucracy most certainly counts in this scenario.
Frankly, all three of them most likely were sent to the person in charge of scheduling. Re-read them through that lens, then come back and try again.
Don’t move the goalposts, that’s not what you asked for, you said “Can you point to any recent post of mine about Hillary? Hell, even not very recent will do”
You’ve got THAT right. Lucky for her the G.o.P. is an absolute MESS right now. Otherwise I don’t think she’d stand much of a chance in the general election…IF she were to get that far.
I’m not particularly worked up about this, but my take is:
Question 1 - points to being seriously out of the loop. A Cabinet member has to hear about a cabinet meeting on the radio? That’s either poor management (her scheduler) or a message from the POTUS.
Question 2 - I’d be pissed, too, if meetings were being cancelled and I wasn’t made aware beforehand. Doesn’t say what the meetings were, if they were Cabinet meetings as well I’d lean toward more toward “message from POTUS”
Question 3 - this one come off as vain. She doesn’t indicate that she has/needs vital info for/from POTUS on a daily basis, only that she feels she may need to be seen with him more often.
Context, however, is everything. Snippets often do not convey the context.
I heard on the radio that there is a Cabinet mtg this am. Is there? Can I go? If not, who are we sending?
My interpretation is that it didn’t appear on her schedule for some unspecified reason and she’s not asking if she MAY go but CAN she - that is, does her schedule allow.
I arrived for the 10:15 mtg and was told there was no mtg,… This is the second time this has happened. What’s up???
Scheduling fuckup and she’s pissed. It happens in all offices.
In thinking about the Kissinger interview, the only issue I think that might be raised is that I see POTUS at least once a week while K saw Nixon everyday … Do you see this as a problem?
Nothing implies that she and POTUS didn’t agree to that meeting cadence as most useful for them. But could it be used as a “gotcha” to imply that she doesn’t have sufficient access? Quite possibly, so she’s thinking it through.
But as someone says above you can see these snippets through many different lenses, and my generous interpretation isn’t any more likely to be the reality than anyone else’s negative one.
