Hillary just lost the election.

Based on this thread and the other comments section, there appears to be an epidemic of overheating and dehydration in the USA. Perhaps, Bill Clinton, as the First Gentleman, can make that his cause. Hell, Michelle Obama should do a PSA so that her fellow Democrats aren’t stricken. I think we could cut emergency room visits significantly if this dehydration epidemic was dealt with.

Have you never fallen ill in your life? People get sick. It’s a real thing that happens.

Not sure why this gets pinned solely on her as Sarkozy was the main agitator for intervening – on the US side, both Gates and Obama were as responsible as Clinton.

Not the right thread to expound, but suffice it to say that it was basically a mini-Iraq redux, Democrat style, with many of the same (predictable) results.

So yeah, quite tepid on Hillary, but as mentioned upthread, her biggest asset is her opponent.

To be honest, only in the context of geopolitical convos.

“They” say Hillary was diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday. Team Hillary’s kneejerk reaction was to lie about her illness until a video showed tired ol’ Hillary collapsing like a sack of potatoes on Sunday. Team Hillary just can’t seem to stop lying. Even about the small stuff. Old habits die hard.

The question is - will the Hillary worshippers finally object to Hillary’s lying, or will they make every effort to redirect the conversation away from Hillary habitual lying? Did ol’ Hillary just lose the election?

Nobody lied about Hillary’s illness. They didn’t run out to every possible media source and scream “Hillary has pneumonia”, but nobody lied. You might say that Hillary lied to herself, but hard working people almost always discount their illnesses. Hillary is no different.

On the other hand, Trump has demonized African-Americans, Mexicans and Muslims and promised to treat them as unwelcome in their own country.

Clinton’s failure is hubris. Trump’s failure is unAmerican and legitimately evil. This doesn’t even compare.

Cite for these lies, please?

Perhaps you live in Antarctica, but people who suffer from heat illness more or less by definition don’t do these things, or else they would not exhibit much in the way of visible symptoms. Heat illness is typically suffered by people who do NOT drink enough water, or get out of the sun, or what have you. Drinking water once you’re symptomatic is too late; you’re going down, like it or not.

In workplace health and safety training we go through heat illness training every spring for this very reason; people don’t notice it’s happening to them until it has.

Seriously, this sort of thing is common as dirt. Happens all the time. I’ve had it a few times. What it has to do with the election beats the hell out of me.

*Clinton appeared wobbly and stumbled Sunday as she left a 9/11 commemoration ceremony in New York. Her campaign later revealed she’d been diagnosed Friday with pneumonia – a disclosure that fueled arguments that the Democratic nominee isn’t sufficiently forthcoming about important details.

That said. It was a difficult position for Hillary. Given all the conspiracy theory regarding her health, she was in a damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t position. Is “not disclosing” a lie, not in my opinion, but it does reflection on transparency claims. Trump is doing the same thing with his flip-flopping on revealing his medical records now.

What bothers me most is that the US will be stuck with one of these candidates, both are probably incapable of passing a physical for employment at McDonald’s, for the next 4 years.

I’m voting for the much lesser of the 2 evils, and she’s by far not my first choice.

I don’t quite know what to make of all this, but at the very least the video shows to me that Clinton was in very bad shape while getting into that van, and despite coughing fits in the weeks before she would not admit she had pneumonia until pretty much forced to do so.

I think someone; newspaper editors, congressmen, etc. should call on not only Clinton but all of her staff to start coming clean. If they are trying to carry (literally) her through the election by hiding what they know about her health they are all complicit in a major deception of not only the people of the USA but the entire world.

Maybe it’s just pneumonia and that’s it, but I’d like to see a hell of a lot more transparency and a lot less smoke and mirrors.

So no cite for a “lie”, unsurprisingly. If she had a bout of the runs last week, is she lying by not telling the media?

For your reading pleasure.

Morganstern, that dude has very little credibility; this essay by him is little more than light-on-facts concern trolling. I skimmed a couple other editorials by him, and that seems to be his modus operandi.

A system in which both candidates are expected to undergo a nonpartisan review of their medical records is reasonable. Expecting Clinto to reveal hers unilaterally while Trump doesn’t is highly unreasonable. Any criticism of Clinton’s lack of transparency that doesn’t mention Trump’s greater opacity is missing the story.

I agree with you there. I think Trump ought to let out his taxes and medical records.

The most hilariously entertaining take on Clinton’s little medical/credibility problem comes from pundit Froma Harrop, who reminds us that such things are a non-issue BECAUSE TRUMP.

“I will dispense with the interminable chitchat of whether she should have revealed the pneumonia several days before. She had no obligation whatsoever to reveal a recoverable illness.”

Gotta love that term “recoverable illness”. Virtually every condition you can think of falls under that heading - heart attacks, stroke, cancer…well, maybe not terminal cancer. The rest, it’s nobody’s business but the candidate’s.

Froma: “That’s because we have a personage in the United States called vice president. Should the president become incapacitated, the VP would take over.”

Righto! No need to fuss over the health of pushing-70 presidential candidates. Even if their veeps collapse, there’s still the speaker of the House and so on.

I think the most recent poll numbers have Hillaryites in a bit of a panic, or they’d be making more sense. Relax kiddies, she’s still going to have a comfortable Electoral College win to go with a modest popular vote margin, even if Trump doesn’t have another major meltdown (and I certainly wouldn’t wager any significant cash on that one).

So all his points in that article are false?

Look, we know Trump is a dishonest slob. We know he cheats, steals from the poor and probably eats kittens. Bit Hillary isn’t a goddess incapable of the same things. And, since day one, Hillary and her truthfulness have been a campaign issue for the Trumpsters. They have even run an ad featuring Bill’s “lies” back to back with Hillary “lying.”

Where’s the lie?

I would disagree with the last sentence in that paragraph. Look back to 2008. McCain, a cancer survivor, chose (or his handlers did) Sarah Palin. Sarah was a nice, albeit scatterbrained, person. How many people didn’t vote McCain for fear that he would succumb to cancer and Sarah would have become POTUS? I’m sure there was a handful in that camp. If you’re running for POTUS, your health should be a campaign issue and fully disclosed by the candidate.

I can overlook the lying and lack of transparency as part of the definition of politician, but she lost my vote when she decided to parrot the racist, bullshit, anti-white rhetoric of the left.

Thought she had more class and tact than that…

What “racist” and “anti-white” rhetoric?

Here, the result of Politifact fact checking.

Of course, Trump’s page of lies would take up volumes, but stones, glass house, etc.
