Hillary just lost the election.

She’s a pneumoniac, pneumoniac on the dance floor…!

A treatable illness that otherwise healthy people of all ages are susceptible to. Good to know.

This is why I’m glad she’s not up against a competent sleaze machine like Karl Rove circa 2000-2004. The best way to play this would be the veiled insinuation coupled with false concern. Instead, they’ve already said that she’s got brain damage, Parkinson’s, constantly drunk, one step away from death, etc. Play it up like that and she just has to stand up straight and put three sentences together and she’s obviously better than they’re saying, even if her condition isn’t actually all that good.

Too bad about the pneumonia, but that’s treatable, I suppose.

That may or may not hurt her case here.

Well, of course she stumbled/fainted/had a massive stroke and flatlined at least once. She had the big P!

But she didn’t TELL anyone.

And if something like this happened to random politician without a history of Clinton’s it probably wouldn’t be much a deal.

But Clinton HAS had some health issues. AND plenty of people don’t trust her too much and or think she keeps things secret. Well, this little episode feeds right into that.

Of course she was damned if she did and damned if did not in this scenario (revealing the pneumo before the tumble).

Sure the vast majority of true Clinton believers think this is no big deal. And the flip side for the Trump true believers.

But those people on the Clinton edge and true undecided?

This can not help her cause. IMO it ain’t a deal breaker. Probably not even close. But it ain’t helping.

From the article:

If that doesn’t cure her, nothing will!!

There is a Snopes report on the claim that Hillary has Parkinson’s. Guess where the claim came from? A YouTube video! Oh, you already guessed, didn’t you?

We won WWII with a president in a wheelchair, I very much doubt that Hillary is suffering from anything that would prevent her from exercising the duties of the office of president. The PotUS is human (remember when the older Bush puked at a Japanese state dinner?) and they can fall ill or be injured and the country will not collapse. Worst case if Hillary is elected Something Bad happens, Hillary is no longer the PotUS and the VP takes over, which is why we have a chain of succession. Stuff happens. The nation endures. The world does not end.

Yes, borders on delusional to treat the latest news of pneumonia diagnosis as ‘oh so this whole thing is nothing after all, I knew it!’. Lots of people get it, but it’s often serious for people that age, and even if not serious as in any kind of threat to life, it can crimp someone’s activity seriously if they want to make sure it doesn’t get really medically serious. There may be an ongoing and wholly legitimate story about how much she has to ‘adjust her schedule’ as her release admitted.

But moreover it at least looks initially like the Clinton campaign was going to keep it secret. To non-ideological voters, not particularly to die hard Hillary hater/Trumpkins who aren’t her problem, that IMO shoots a fairly big hole in the line that it’s such a ‘fact’ she has no serious health problems because none have been disclosed.

Her disclosure hasn’t been particularly rigorous even before now. Trump’s less still, but ‘fair’ or not she’s in the cross hairs on this now. As often when I see ridiculous complacency here about her position in this election, she better hope her people don’t have that attitude and she doesn’t succumb to it herself.

Well on the bright side for her campaign, FDR did have poliomyelitis.

The timing has to be bad though. Leaving the ceremony was disrespectful for the dead on 9/11, course the same could have been said if she didn’t appear. Probably couldn’t stand getting trumped by…Trump.

She’ll lose because she is a terrible persuader.

Yes. Like I said, she was kinda damned if did and damned if she not release the pneumo info given that she had her spell of whatever today.

Her is the arguement boiled WAY down.

Side A. Of course she didn’t tell anyone. It is NO big deal.

Side B. Well, if it was NO big deal, why didn’t you release it?

And then the argueing starts.

So, what you have to ask is. How do you think the people that are undecided or borderline Clinton are going to break down on A versus B?

And note, that is NOT the same as what you think.

The proverbial you you that is.

Yes, leaving the ceremony because she was ill certainly was disrespectful for the dead, wasn’t it? But why should we give a shit what the dead think?

BTW, did Mr. Trump attend this ceremony too? :dubious:

Does she jog, is she on record as jogging like all the rest of them? So, OK, if minor respiratory, give it a week or so, then go jogging. Probably somebody will take pictures. Prolly.

Pneumonia is a temporary condition, an illness that anyone can get. Which recalls Churchill’s brilliant retort when a woman accused him of being drunk. Paraphrased for the current situation: in a week or so Hillary will be perfectly well, and Trump will still be an idiot.

This ought to shed some light on whether or not “Hillary just lost the election”. To be fair, the pneumonia diagnosis wasn’t known when the OP was written. But now it is, and it’s hard to see how this could be a lasting election issue.

Yeah, I was wondering what Trump was up to today.

As of this afternoon, it looks like a combination of overheating, dehydration and. . . pneumonia

“And even so, she mustered her reserves of strength and went on to honor our heroes.”

Writes itself.

I think all those stories about Hillary’s health won’t stop any voters that are hardcore democrats that always vote democrat no matter what, or voters educates with college degrees— because they see those stories as propaganda. I don’t think those stories would stop the Hillary black voters either.

I know voters who won’t vote for Hillary based on her being hawkish toward military and because she isn’t for a single payer healthcare system, but I don’t know any who have misgivings about her because of health reasons.

I predict she collapses at the debates while Trump is talking about the number of Muslims working at the State Department. Trump yells out, “My God Hillary!” rushes over and cradles her head. And Donny will leave those microphones and those cameras with blood all over him, fighting off anyone who tries to help him, defending America even if it means his own death, rallying a nation of television-viewers into hysteria to sweep him up into the White House with powers that will make martial law seem like anarchy.

So Mrs Clinton - the junior Senator for New York State when 9/11 happened - attended a memorial despite a pneumonia diagnosis and, eh, found that it can be a bit debilitating. Is that really a negative?
