Randolf, is this true or are you joking? If you are there can you video it?
In this case it was exceptionally hot-- I was pretty stupid to have gone out. But it’s pretty easy to become dehydrated, particularly when you aren’t in your usual routine, and dehydration plus heat can cause pretty dramatic effects.
No, no, he’s saving the Manchurian thing for when Melania gets shot by A Terrorist(remember that in his contract for Trump-campaign volunteers, the ‘non-disparagement clause’ one, each of his children is carefully listed by name, but his “Spouse” is just as carefully unspecified.*)

Oh, it’s a real thing. Unless it’s a really large formation and really hot, soldiers don’t “drop like flies” but there will be a few. They teach you not to lock your knees while standing at attention etc, but a few people will go down.
A quick google search will turn up vids, like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xn7EvG8sZ58
Maybe Trump should pass the time by playing a little Solitaire.
I’m shaking my head at a lot of these comments. If you saw the video and don’t think this has become a huge issue you are deluding yourself. It will be interesting to see how much of a change there will be on 538. Trump has been creeping up before this happened.
More amateur punditry.
At least you’re making something close to a testable prediction, so we can either nod sagely or point and laugh in two weeks. But let’s put a finer point on it. What constitutes a “huge issue” in terms of the 538 forecast to you?
This is just incorrect. For the past week, Clinton’s decline has plateaued and her chance of winning bottomed out at 67.3% (Polls Only); her percentage of winning has been steadily climbing again over the past four days. She now has a 70.6% chance of winning (polls only).
Might her chance of winning dip again after this? Sure. But it’s nothing to lose sleep over, unless you want to.
It is true, and I’m not joking, but even if I were I wouldn’t have time to video it. Maybe you can send the idea into Funny or Die?
That certainly is some terrible persuasion.
The American people, good or bad, will typically not vote for someone they see as weak.
Hillary, being a woman, is already facing this obstacle (no I am not talking about objective truth, I am talking about perception. And yes, the patriarchy is still alive, and yes, women are seen as weaker). It was effectively used against the Republicans in the early stages when her supporters painted those who pointed out her alleged weakness as bigots and misogynists. As a result, Dems won round one with enough groups to give her an edge. Trump was some blustering white man talking down to women. It pushed her ahead of his popularist/nationalistic rhetoric which was winning 40-43 percent of Americans. But, he only needed 3-5% more with the surge of the 3rd and 4th party candidates. He does NOT need 50%, or even 51%, he only needs 46-48% to win this election (in key places of course).
So, the Republican party pivoted expertly, went to medical measures of “weakness”. An OBJECTIVE position that is sex neutral (theoretically). They began to hammer it, mostly with falsehoods (like swiftboat), but now they got this.
Let’s remember, we had a decorated war hero who lost to a person whose service was under question. Reframing the argument and getting old white people to wear bandaids with purple hearts is something the Republican party is expert at.
Hillary’s perception as a crook? Who cares, was not winning.
BUT, Hillary’s perception as weak? Let’s see… on crime… yup they are going for that. On immigration… yup they are going for that. On terrorism… yup they are going for that. And now, on fitness for duty.
Personally, I understand what happened to Hillary today and think it is no big deal.
The electorate as a whole however… well this may the silver bullet Trump needed.
Hillary has work to do, big time. If you do not want Trump to win, you also have big time work to do because I suspect you will see the polls go dead even or even slight Trump lead within 7 days.
And, for the record, I think Donald Trump represents the most deplorable human being I have ever seen run for the President of the United States in the 50 years I have been alive.
If this is a setback, it can be reversed at the debates – Trump not showing up is far weaker than Hillary having a stumble and pneumonia (presuming that she recovers). If at the first debate, she makes him look like a buffoon (and a weak buffoon at that), that would be far more significant than this.
Pneumonia?
Riiiiiiiiiiigggght.
And this coming from Crooked’s team?
Please. LOL
I know Trump is no fan of the First Amendment but I don’t think he will play that card- it only appeals to racist fools who already are solid Trumpians.
Completely unrelated note: do you watch classic movies?
Do tell, Doctor Tiger…
As I saw in Reddit:
“I’d rather have candidate who had a temporary respiratory illness than one with permanent mental illness.”
I plan to vote for Clinton.
Truth is, I’d be happier to vote Kaine for President than for Clinton.
And by the transitive property, I’d be even happier to vote for Kaine over Trump.
He’s 70 years old. I think “early onset” is no longer an appropriate modifier.
That phrase means something very specific, and much as I hate Trump, he doesn’t speak in word salad. Word salad is, “I went the shoehorn butterhorse magnolia drop.” Trump’s just trying to fill time with words without actually saying anything.
Yep.
Again, a very specific disease process, with very specific symptoms and disease progression…and she’s shown none of the symptoms that I’ve seen, except perhaps dizziness, which can be caused by a gajillion things, including the hypothyroidism we already know she has because of her released medical information.
Wait, what? They announced it the very same day she was seen by a doctor. How is that indication that they were going to keep it secret?
She has pneumonia. Which I realize we didn’t officially know at the beginning of the thread. But sweet baby Jesus, anyone who’s heard her coughing over the last few weeks could tell that wasn’t “due to allergies”. But I can also verify that most people with that cough would ignore it until they couldn’t anymore, especially if they were in the middle of the most important job interview of their lives.
Last week when she had that awful coughing fit and joked about being allergic to Trump, I told my husband, “That’s not allergies. There’s constriction in that cough. She’s sick.” And he said, “Yep. Bronchitis at least.” And I said, “Bet it’s pneumonia, though.”
Yes, this is how a nurse and retired paramedic watch the news.
Today was bad. Yes, that was an actual collapse, not a stumble. I’m really glad she got medical attention. But this is an acute illness, and one she can be expected to fully recover from. Hopefully her renewed vigor when those antibiotics kick in will help people forget about it, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about what this does to her electability.
For starters, consider the source being the campaign of a serial liar.
