Hillary vs Sanders vs Biden

Who do you nominate?

I go for Joe, not that the other two wouldn’t be good presidents. Joe paid his dues and earned his spot, in my opinion.

Both Joe or Hillary could win. Sanders not so.
Joe would bring too much fuel for the Anti-Obama crowd to the race. He’d be lost in the fog of those attacks and spend his campaign divesting himself of those issues. Hillary will shine in this.

Why would the anti-Obama crowd matter? We are 0-2 in Presidential elections.

I vote Biden. Honesty, experience, never used his office to get rich.

I’m having a hard time with this. Hillary is like the Hulk. Attacks only seem to make her stronger, so I don’t worry about much with her. She can win this. But of the three, I like her ideology the least. Sanders is ideologically my equal, but I don’t think he could win in the general. Maybe he could, but I don’t have a real strong feeling about it. I like Biden a hell of a lot more than I like Clinton, but I just don’t know…can he win on a November ballot? Much more likely than Sanders.

So to sum up: I don’t know.

ETA: Poll numbers right now are Hillary (6), Sanders (6), Biden (7). That’s kinda how I’m feeling. Biden might have an ever-so-slight edge with me over the other two.

Vote VP! A vote for Biden is a vote for Topless Tuesdays!

I wish we could rank in order of preference. I like Bernie the most by quite a bit, and I’m not convinced he’d be a weaker candidate once he becomes better known.

My next choice would be Biden. He’s well respected and capable, and is most likely to be able to get things done.

I’d have to hold my nose to vote for Hillary if she becomes the nominee. I don’t care for her poll-driven politics or her coziness with Wall Street. I don’t find her likeable in general, which is important for electability. And I can’t rationally express how hostile I am to the idea of family dynasties in the White House - I don’t like it in the Bushes, I don’t like it in the Clintons, and dammit I would have voted against JQA if I had had the chance.

My first preference is Sanders, then Biden. I’ll settle for Hilary if she is the nominee, but she doesn’t excite me.

Is there a reason the poll doesn’t include the other Democratic candidates?

If I understand the history correct, John Quincy Adams was an incredibly forward-thinking and admirable President who opposed slavery decades before the Civil War. That seems like more than reason enough to have supported him.

I get your point, though, but I’m a big fan of JQA (assuming my understanding is correct).

I hastily clicked on Biden thinking that he would make the best president from the 3 choices. I don’t think he would make the best candidate though. At this point in the game I would have to pick Hillary for the nominee, however, by the time the convention rolls around it could easily be Sanders.

My vote in this poll is Biden. Full disclosure, I’m most likely voting third party, so take the appropriate amount of salt with my opinions.

Clinton first, I have a strong suspicion she’s going to flame out, not unlike she did against Obama. Admittedly, Biden and Sanders are weaker candidates, but she has even more drawbacks this time. She’s still unlikable, she’s still an establishment politician, but now she’s eight years older, she has even more scandal associated with her, and I think she has the least ability of these three candidates to use the positive view of Obama–at least among Democrats since we’re just talking nominees–as a means of being able to say she’ll continue what he started. She does have WAY more money than anyone else right now, but her campaign appears to be similarly mismanaged this time too. Obviously, she’s the safe money if one were to bet, but I still think it’s most likely someone else will beat her out.

Sanders second, though I disagree with most of his views, I actually have a great deal of respect for him because I believe that he genuinely believes what he says, and it’s not just based on polling or what he thinks will get him elected. So he strikes me as honest and authentic, and I’d rather have someone like that in the White House and disagree with most of his opinions than someone with whom I agree more, but doesn’t have the conviction to follow them through. That all said, he’s just flat unelectable. He’s a self-proclaimed socialist, and that’s poison that will turn a lot of the swing voters against him and bring out the Republican base to campaign and vote against him in droves. Further, that will probably hurt his funding because if/when he beats Clinton, where most/all of her benefactors would potentially otherwise go to another Democratic candidate, I suspect many would fear his higher tax rates and either just withhold their money or even give it to the Republican candidate. I absolutely encourage people to put their vote where their beliefs really are, but I think ultimately the pragmatism of most Democrats wanting to keep the White House will supersede their ideals, and they’ll pick someone else.

Finally, Biden, he seems like the best compromise candidate. He strikes me as honest, even if he’s likely to put his foot in his mouth. I think he’s also got a good chance among many swing voters and moderates who are reasonably happy with Obama, and being the VP, has the most clout when he says he’ll follow through on his policies and legacy. Unlike Clinton, at least thus far, he has no meaningful scandals attached to his name, though I imagine some will show up as he becomes more serious, and his name doesn’t stink of dynasty. Unlike Sanders, he isn’t a self-proclaimed socialist and won’t alienate the most moderate Democrats. I think he’s neutral enough that, provided he doesn’t go out before Sanders or Clinton, most of the supporters of the one that falls first will go to him rather than the other.

So, yeah, of those three, I think he’s their best nominee, whether or not he actually gets it, I dunno. I think this poll might have been more interesting with some other options in there

My honest answer is that I don’t know yet, but given current information, I think it’s most likely to be Sanders. If the Republicans look like they’re coalescing behind someone like Trump or Cruz, then the electability of the Democrat will be irrelevant, as any Democrat would beat a Republican like that, and so I’d be free to vote for the one I think is best. If the trend continues in Sanders’ numbers, he might even be the most electable against conventional Republicans like Bush or Walker, which would again lead me to vote for him. If the numbers are such that Clinton or Biden looks inevitable for the Democratic nomination, I’ll also vote for Sanders, not in hopes of him actually winning, but in hopes of calling more attention to his positions. In the event that the Democratic primary looks close, but that a conventional candidate has much better chance of winning the general, I’ll vote for Biden if he’s running, or failing that, Clinton.

Total up all of the scenarios, and it’s Sanders in most of them. I don’t know which of those scenarios will come to pass, but overall, I’m most likely to vote for him somehow or other.

I think he has a decided advantage against Bush, because he can play the ‘dynasty’ card against Bush. Jeb and Hillary need to run against each other to avoid that mess.
