Well, at least she’s being honest, Monty. She’s just here at the SDMB to preach at us, that’s all. She’s not interested in sharing her life in MPSIMS, or in finding out stuff in GQ, or in Cecil Adams and his particular brand of…whatever…, or in debating much of anything. I’m reading Blood and Fire by Roy Hattersley, which is a crackerjack biography of General Booth, and this was exactly the sort of thing the Salvation Army went in for, when they first got started. Prove it. This time using scriptural texts IN CONTEXT. The way I read that particular bit of Revelations is that it’s those who deceive (that would be your King, Jack Chick, and other liars) who are cast into said lake.

Matthew 14:10 discusses those who don’t listen to those who tell the truth about the Lord. You’ve yet to do that. Here’s what comes shortly before that verse:

A final question for you: You, like so many of the intolerant who just happen to be Fundamentalists (not all Fundamentalists, just the intolerant ones like you) are barely literate and you worship a book which you display zero understanding of. A bit of info regarding what happyheathen mentioned above: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That means I am a Christian. And it doesn’t matter if you like it or not. It’s not your decision. One of the earlier intolerants like you who appeared on this board was ARG220. Another poster said (and I paraphrase) “It’s hilarious to hear you telling Monty he doesn’t understand the Scriptures when he knows far more about them than you.” I’ve dedicated a good portion of my life to understanding the Scriptures. It’s as simple as that. Every Christian on this board has stated outright at least two or three times – for many of us, a lot more than that – what His commandments are. You’re failing to honor even them.
You are welcome to “shake the dust off your feet” in self-righteousness, but don’t make yourself into a martyr by saying, “I preached the Word and they didn’t listen.”
You have not said one single word about the Good News of Christ. You’ve warned people about a vengeful, hate-filled god that intends to torture everybody here eternally.
That doesn’t even match up with the Fundamentalist understanding of the God of the Bible, AFAIK. (Resident fundies? Check?)
