I’m reminded of an old joke about what Ed Gein found in his Christmas stocking, but it has racial overtones, so I won’t repeat it here. (Something to do with Brazil nuts… )
Awfully nice marbling on that meat, though!
Something doesn’t pass the smell test here. The Eater article refers to this BBC article dated 13th of May 2015. But an identical article ran in the Independant in February, 2014 which references this article from September, 2013 which is sourced from this article from August, 2013 which ultimately sources it from this forum post from August, 2013. The forum post doesn’t contain any details and appears to be on a site which seems to be about memes and humor. There’s no reason whatsoever to suppose it happened.
I have no idea why the BBC would publish such a piece without confirming any of the details but it’s extremely poor practice on their part.
If I was ever served mansteak, I’m not sure the price would be my primary objection.
Further googling revealed this as seemingly the origin of the news from a credible source. Still, it’s a story from 2013 being reported as if it’s fresh news.
Given the relative abundance of the meat and the ease with which it can be procured, I fail to see why it should be so pricey! :dubious:
I don’t see why not.
The heads were fresh.
One assumes that blood pudding and head cheese are popular dishes thereabout! :o
Which is…
Yeah, but with great marbling!
And the ladyfingers.
I’ll have the Idi Amin special platter, please!
Is that the open face sandwich?
A real mixed grill! :o
Those are braces.
Stringy!
Mmmm…pulled long pork.
“Hm. I think I will eat Nigerian tonight.”
I am guessing you missed an “a” before “Nigerian”…?
The reason why hidden human meat or “Chinese restaurant uses cat meat instead of pork” make no sense to me is that the cost (financial/risk) is too great to make it a $5.95 special. Either it’s not happening or customers know exactly what they’re buying.
Well, why else would all those princes living there beg for money so much? Duh.
