I have no idea if this is the right forum to post in, so please feel free to move mods.
I’m a hockey moron. My brother is having his first baby, we found out today it is to be a boy. He’s naming the kid after his hero, Trevor Linden. I had a brief moment of inspiration that a really cool gift would be if I could get a signed kid’s jersey. I see that the NHL store sells toddler sized jerseys, which are cool, but they seem to have different designs… specifically:

I get the home vs. away difference, but I don’t know how to choose between these two - is one a newer version? Which one to pick?
Second, and probably the impossible part of the task, how hard is it to get a big name star to sign something? Is it feasable to put in a request to his agent (?) to see if he would be willing to sign a jersey if I sent it with return post paid? Anyone that can shed some light on how I might get this done, I would greatly appreciate it, This is the first grandkid/baby in our family, so it’s a big deal, and I can’t think of a better present. Plus, bonus points for being a kick ass auntie wouldn’t hurt either.
Thanks everyone, don’t razz me too hard for being such a hockey moron about my first question.
