Well, I ended up with towheaded blonde hair like I haven’t had since I was 5. There were also still (!) a few stubborn streaks of blue and green. I have now applied dye that is supposed to take my hair back to its normal color. We’ll see what that looks like. My son’s verdict on the nearly white hair was “you look ridiculous!”
After I wash the dye out, I must figure out what to do about dinner. I got nothing, idea-wise. I guess we’ll see what their majesties will deign to eat tonight.
I love Greek salad, and I think I’ve had it served in every possible way. There’s a Greek restaurant up the block from my office, and a bunch of us from go there regularly for lunch. Most of my regular lunch buddies just automatically pass me their olives…the restaurant just piles them on the side of the salad bowl, and I’m the only one in my group that actually likes them.
Went to work again today for a couple of hours…did I mention this was my vacation week? Came home, changed, put on some makeup, and went right back out to attend a client luncheon. I will be going into work again tomorrow, early, and coming home for a nice nap afterwards. This week off has been killing me!
Have you ever tried the fruitcake from the Collins Street Bakery, in Corsicana, Texas? In general my dad didn’t like commercial fruitcake, but this was one he really enjoyed. I do as well. Very moist and tasty.
PM me with your address, if you would share it, and I can send you one of the fruitcakes mom and I made. They’ve been in the freezer, but all that fruit and sugary stuff, they would survive mailing well.
Thanks for thinking of my mom, we are keeping a close eye on her. One of my sisters is spending the night.
They had a massive advertising program, which resulted in a lot of marks, including me buying it. Apparently there was a rush to manufacture more, and ours arrived with French instructions. Perhaps that batch was intended for France or Canada. Hi, Emily!
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) wants me to write an email saying that we love their product, but can’t use it because the instructions are in French.
I, on the other hand, want to write them a confusing email in French.
Emily, Dogbutt, Spiderbutt, I await your suggestions.
Howdy. Poke chops, rice and gravy, okra and tomatoes was dinner. Hubby cooked and I cleaned.
Looks like all you northern mumpers are in for a very cold spell. I still have the a/c on here.
Off to feed the sweet tooth and then beddy bye. I need to get up earlier than usual in the AM to pick up my clerk after she drops her car at the dealership for service.
My dentist is mean! I’d commit minor crimes to get the stitches out of my gums but he says they should stay in for two weeks, so I’ve got them until next Monday.
I was going to offer to help you write it in French, but then I thought what you really want is Franglais. A lovely pastiche of French and English that will really allow you to express yourself. I can help with that too.
Hair is now slightly lighter than it was in October before I started this adventure but fairly close to normal again. I should have taken pictures of me with Daenerys hair, but, alas I did not. I somewhat regret that now. :smack:
Does that mean we left our Bear behind?
Work was fun but long. 8 hours became 10 became 12 and with the mandatory breaks basically 13. But I was with fun people and we all managed some good laughs during it all. I was tired enough that dinner was corn flakes; anything else seemed like too much work to eat.
Blurf. I has a cough today. It is not fun. I don’t have any other symptoms of a cold but I do have a fuzzy head today from a late night ('twas pub night, don’t judge) and not sleeping very well either.
Just got to get through today and then I am at the cinema with a friend tonight to see a theatre screening of No Man’s Land with Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart.
Hopefully I’ll have a better night and I won’t be coughing all through the performance either - must remember to take a bottle of water with me.
