Or not. I just spent thirty minutes driving around in a maze of identical townhouses trying to see the inch-high unit numbers at the doors. Have I mentioned that my night vision is extremely sub-par? Irritated enough to shoot real people.
I just got home, lied to the hostess that I caught WOWCrack Roommate’s sick, and now I’m going to enjoy a beerverage and watch Freaks.
Do tell! Do tell! Happy Tater-versary!
I came home about 3:30 pm and crawled into bed. I watched TV for about half an hour and fell asleep until just a little while ago. I really must have needed that.
My Very Own Annoying Cow-Orker[sup]TM[/sup] has been displaced by an even more annoying cow-orker. In fact MVOACW[sup]TM[/sup] has not been that annoying lately. We’ve been getting a long quite well. (Whiney Little Bitch Cow Orker[sup]TM[/sup] still has her title, but she was on vacation this week, so I was spared). EMACO[sup]TM[/sup] is a story topper with a “poor me” complex. She’s only been with us a few weeks. She never shuts up. She sits two rows over and I can hear her gabbing away. And she’s made more mistakes in her short time with us than the rest of us in our first weeks combined. The office (air quotes) celebrated (/air quotes) her fifth anniversary with the company this week, and in those five years, she’s been in 4 different departments. I don’t think she’ll be with us come 2009. Tant pis.* In spite of her presence there today, I did get a lot done. MVO(not so)ACO[sup]TM[/sup] will be relieved to see that come Monday.
I think I will go back to bed now. I am still exhauted.
*that’s “what a shame” or “too bad so sad :p” in French, depending on tone of voice and inflection.
Oh, my. Busy day, but nothing seems to have been done–how does that happen?
I obtained supplies for my family’s pantry. I have no idea what Her Royal Highness wants re the cheese corner thingies–never heard of 'em. They sound good. Are they like Kraft American “cheese” slices? (those taste like plastic to me). I wonder what a cheese corner tastes like. Cheese straws are very good. Ok, am now riffing in my head about cheese; moving on.
I was supposed to install the new Roman shades I purchased via online and were due to be delivered 1/29 that showed up yesterday(?), but I got sidetracked by the sudden onset of an altered level of consciousness aka a nap. Then I had to run various male children various places, and then I discovered season 4 episodes of House on the Fox website, so no shades up, yet. I did work on my scarf. I am almost done. It pretty much sucks, but at least I have stopped dropping stitches. Progress.
That chicken will be made by me soon–it’s so simple. I might go a bit easier on the butter (does the woman have a death by cholesterol wish?). I do like lemon chicken, so it’s sounds great. I’d go more garlic/oniony that chile peppery–but I dislike peppers. Salad and French bread or rice (pasta?)… sounds like dinner to me!
Think I might head to bed. It has been crazy windy here and the power dipped a couple of times so goodness knows what damage I will find in the morning.
**Rigs **-- “The Laughing Cow” (AKA La Vache Qui Rit) – just skip the intro, then go to Products->The Laughing Cow Wedges.
**Ems **-- I’m so with you on that problem of writing that appraisal. Oh, and I’m probably the junior manager you can’t quite figure out what to write about, too… :o Well, other than the “make decisions” part – I’ve never had any problems with that (other than being too precipitous, perhaps.) I’m actually not too bad at managing problems; but I hatehatehate managing people, and do it badly.
How’s the head, Haze? (somebody had to do it)
Happy Taterversary
**Spaz **-- I hate when that (rows of identical unmarked houses) happens, too. We actually have a reasonable by-law in Tel-Aviv about every home required to have a sign with 3" black lettering on off-white background, with backlighting at night!!
I’m tired of rain. Someone make the rain stop, please.
Haze, I haven’t forgotten your commitment to have something ridiculous happen in your life so we could hear the story about it this weekend. I’m still waiting. ::tap, tap, tap::
I declare our heated mattress pad to be acceptable - as long as there’s a comforter on the bed. We had to resurrect our old comforter, which had been retired in favor of a bedspread. The spread is fine in merely cool weather, but it’s been downright cold! Anyway, I saw the clock around 5, again a little after 6, and I finally got up around 7. Two sequential days of sleeping in - wow!
Cold and grey out there. The 40% chance of snow overnight didn’t materialize, at least not in my yard. Today’s just supposed to be cloudy - at least you don’t have to shovel cloudy. Other than that, no idea what the day holds. OK, 3 loads of laundry, but that’s not enough to keep me occupied. We shall see what develops.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienated and purtified for churchification. I’s Lector (that means reader, not cannibal) this mornin’. Ol’ y’all know who is in the process of purtification as I post. Y’all miss me? Yesterday was busy. I worked a while yesterday mornin’ and spent the rest of the day doin’ stuff with da squeeze. He found a recipe for homemade egg nog. I am not a fan of egg nog, but I gotta admit that was pretty good. Just the right amount of nutmeg and cinnamon plus hefty shots of good ol’ Jack Daniel’s.
Belated…
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
to the Taters. Hope it was a good one.
Everybody else, boo, yay, hugs, congrats, ick, as appropriate.
