Sorry. Anyone that willfully prepares and eats something called Boiled Baby just ainβt right.
Speaking of just ainβt right, thatβs the word for our weather. Itβs SNOWING here! Well, not in San Francisco, but thereβs been snow in the Santa Cruz mountains, and on Mount Diablo in Concord.
Sir Richard Branson seems to be branching out in his ventures. Owning an airline and a string of entertainment stores isnβt enough - he appears to be branching out into booze. As I came out of the BART station this morning, I saw heβs either getting into liquor or they need to call a sign repair company as the sign read VIRGIN Megastore
boofae I know about real ale - belive me through bitter experience I find everyone over here assumes that all beer is drank warm including lager/what is refered to as beer over here.
Today is insane at work - so why am I posting I am eating breakfast and taking a 10 minute sanity break. Today breakfast would be a cinnamon & raison (sp?? nothing looks correct) English muffin with cheese and honey ham and some slices of fresh pineapple.
Busy day today. Too much crap going on. But the weather is nicer! All that blustery, frigid crap of the last few days has been replaced by much milder temperatures, though it brought a lot of snow with it. I can deal with that though.
Still busy, so Iβll just leave the cake and run.
And WHY does the ceremony take place over an anvil to begin with? Nice picture of the wedding, btw.
I like British weddings. When Daughter and I were in UK a few years ago, we went to Salisbury cathedral and happened upon a wedding. It was a brilliant October day, with the sun streaming over the Close. The car was a Rolls, the bride was beautiful, as were all the bridesmaids and children dressed up (what are the little boys called who are in the wedding party?). Anyway, it was a nice memory.
Crockpot smells good; cookies out of the oven; chores done. Iβm done for the day.
{{{doggio}}} - I hope Lucretia and Brandy meet up in kitty heaven.
puggy, first week of April! I expect to get into town around Mar 30 and I hope to leave on the 4th or 5th - it all depends on how things go with my kid. So we gotta do lunch or dinner at the very least. So let it be writtenβ¦
**NoTag ** - donβt sweat the nickname thing - itβs very fluid and occasionally confusing. Just ask - we wonβt mock you too badly.
Happy SpazDay!!!
**FCD ** just called - heβs an hour late leaving work. Bummer. I should probably make a nice supper. I should. But will I??
Not a lot exciting here - cold, drizzly, boring. Jury duty tomorrow. Blah blah blahβ¦
I amused some people today. I was on the bus home, deeply immersed in lesson plans for tomorrow, when I received a text message. I glanced at the sender and saw that it was That Guy. It was a very innocuous text message, asking me if I wanted to have dinner with him and Mr Cheerio, but for a second my heart skipped a beat. And then β¦

People around me: :dubious:
Iβm such an idiot. I havenβt seen him since we had our last Talk, and I guess the thought of testing my new resolutions freaked me out for a moment. Iβm fine now, though.
Drat! I just made a paypal payment from the wrong bank account. I guess Iβll have to make it to the bank tomorrow when they open and hope for the best.
First off, thank you for the colorful bird-day greetings. They made the day go by quicker. (Especially after I realized I forgot to do my weekly online assignment for class. Way to start off the year with the teacher who gave you a C last semester. Ditz.)
Good on you, Haze. Donβt let That Guy get past your defenses.
Scare, thatβs a gorgeous place to have a wedding! The anvil thing is a little strange, but hey. Thatβs the British for you. (I loved all those village churches when I was over there in the summer of 06. I would go in and just marvel at the sheer age of them and the fact that people still went there every week to worship. Americans have no real concept of the age of civilization.)
Just back from taking #1 son driving. He is doing well, except for not allowing enough space for parked cars (he about gives me a heart attack when we pass a parked car on my side). Dinner was great.
I bonked my head, hard, reaching below the breakfast bar to get a piece of ice on the floor. I didnβt hit it on the way down, but back upβfull force. Didnβt see stars, but now my whole neck aches. Bleh.
Hippo Birdie Two Ewes, Spaz!
I was canceled for tomorrow, which is actually a good thing, since it gives me time to study PALS and shop for new window treatments for the masterbedroom.
I was invited to a Robbie Burnsβ dinner this weekend! yay! and och, aye.
I miss Rue too. I used to be one of the cool kids, back before cool was cool. Or something.
In honor of Rue, hereβs a link to a classic MMP. It had everything. Owls, explosions, cats, fishing, and it contains the retelling of the only dream Iβve ever had about the SDMB. Classic, I tells ya.
grumpy old man
Back in my day, we didnβt even have nicknames in the MMP. And we didnβt do any of this abbreviatinβ, either. Nope, we spelled out Monday Morning Post and we liked it. Yup, we had some real posts back in the day. Not like now with all you nicknamed whippersnappers running around talking about whatever it is youβre talking about. Hell, I just read this whole thread and didnβt even see a mention of a platypus. How can this be a Monday Morning Post? Why, I aughtaβ¦ grumpy old man mode off
<----Look, a smiley! How exciting. I never do that.
Wow, Spaz, what a sad link. I hate to see talented people have their lives shortened so stupidly.
Owwww, rigs. I did that a couple of times when I first bought my house. I kept finding shelves in unexpected places. Worst place was on the way down to the basement.
Kyth, I see youβve perked up since yesterday. Yay!
Tired. Slept way too little last night.
Hugs to all. Off to look for more classic MMPsβ¦or nap.
