I vaguely recall an episode of The Simpsons in which Homer is in the middle of a conversation when he is distracted by a passing rabbit, then prances off to chase it, exclaiming “Ooh, a bunny!” Does anyone remember which episode that scene comes from? or, even better, have a link to the scene?
I’m pretty sure it’d be The Joy of Sect. I remember him chasing…something small and furry when the cult members tried to brainwash him, anyway.
My mistake, it was a bird. I was right about something like what you describe in that episode, however.
Mind you, he may have been distracted by a bunny in some other episode.
There is an episode (where Lisa meets a fortune teller that tells her about her future, a year that is now in our past) where Lisa goes off chasing a bunny. (A quick google shows that it is Lisa’s Wedding.) Could this be what you were thinking of?
(Too late to edit, but Lisa was chasing an Esqulax, which is a horse that has the head of a rabbit and the body of a rabbit.)
I seem to remember this also, and the bunny was drawn in that Life-In-Hell-style of bunnies.
One of my favorite Simpsons gags - “Oooh, floor pie!”: mmmm, floor pie! - YouTube
Is it from This Clip?
I found the episode using: https://frinkiac.com The Simpsons Meme Generator. Enjoy your afternoon.
… but not the same rabbit. (Woody Allen paraphrase.)
My money is on this one
However, this is also a great suggestion and one I forgot about!
Another example of Homer’s short attention span: a blue car!
No, unfortunately that’s not it. It was much more like what EinsteinsHund posted.
It could be the episode where Homer has to take college classes in order to keep his job and there’s a flashback scene where a teenage Homer talks with his high school guidance counselor about his post-graduation plans. In the middle of their conversation, Homer sees a squirrel outside and runs out to chase it. There’s a similar scene later where a now-adult Homer cuts shut short a conference with his college professor to go chase another squirrel.
Incidentally, reruns of the episode edited out both scenes so that could be why you’re memory of it is foggy.
Here are the twos clips…the first he chases a dog to get his ham
the second he chases the squirrel
A poofy tailed dog is what first popped into my head, too.
Second was the remarkable sighting of a blue car.
Ok, different show but similar phrase:
In a Family Guy ep, Peter and Brian set a trap to capture James Woods.
He says, “Ooh, a piece of candy!” for each Reese’s Piece he collects.
Poor quality clip:
Another example of Homer being easily distracted: The Land of Chocolate. (Which also has bunnies, but probably not what the OP is remembering.)
