Homer Simpson: "USA!"

i asked this in GQ, and didn’t get much. i don’t like to post the same questions on multiple boards, but i think it belongs here anyway.

seeing the firefighters chant “USA!” during bush’s encouraging speech to them jogged my memory of at least one Simpson’s episode where Homer does the same sort of thing in his living room. i can’t remember which episodes, anybody know?

let me state lest anyone make assumptions: i think that the firefighter’s chant was patriotic and appropriate. they are making such great sacrifices that i would support anything they said. this question is not about the appropriateness of their chanting. this question is also in no way meant to demean the chant, i just can’t remember the episodes.

I think it’s the Birth Of Lisa episode. Krusty has a game where you get tickets that have an Olympic event listed. If the USA wins that event, you get s free Krustyburger. And Krusty’s no fool. All of the events on the tickes are for games that the Soviets always win…and then the Soviets pull out of the Olympics and America wins all the events.

Homer chants “U.S.A! U.S.A!” as the U.S.A. crushes the rest of the world and Homer gets free burgers galore!

Krusty stands to lose millions. Krusty sobs something like “I hate you all. I’m gonna spit in every tenth hamburger.”

Homer ponders this for a minute then says “I like those odds!”

Homer: I’m thinking of a number between one and fifty.
Marge: Is it 37?
Homer: D’oh! … I mean… No.

Marge gives in, and Homer celebrates by honking the car horn,
flashing the headlights, and chanting, ``U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!’’
