Can’t wait for this. I loved the original and managed to get it running again a few years ago. The gameplay still holds up and the visuals, sound and storytelling are top notch.

Very excited for this as well. Hope it does well enough for them to focus on another sequel.

Or at least a remastered Homeworld: Cataclysm.

That may be up to the modding community, after a little research it appears that the original source-code has been lost.

Be interesting to see how the sales of this, push along the prequel (Shipbreakers).

Homeworld was certainly one of the prettiest games of that era. Both visuals and audio were top notch. That moment when Agnus Dei starts to play ranks as one of the all time best gaming moments for me.

I have this fantasy that they remake Homeland for the Xbox One Kinect.
maybe with gloves and the Oculus Rift…

I remember it being beautiful, but with sadly crappy game play. IIRC, you could basically ignore everything, build a few of the higher level ships and then send them over to nuke the enemies base ship. Was the sequel any better?

Did they add difficulty levels, or otherwise change the scaling so as not to activley punish you for doing well in the previous mission.

I am interested in getting this. I loved the soundtrack and haven’t played the game. But watching some of the clips on youtube that I can find I think I am going to enjoy this game.

On the upside the sound was re-mastered too and it sounds great.

On the downside some of the soundtrack is different. In particular:

Despite that I am loving it. I missed this game a lot. It has made a very welcome return. Anyone who enjoys the RTS genre should play this game.

One of the early reviews said that the goal of this remaster wasn’t to make the game look new, but rather to make it look the way you remember it looking when you first played it way back in the day. I think they knocked it out of the park. It looks just like I remember in my mind’s eye. Gorgeous and chunky and epic and expansive.

Didn’t have time to really dig into it last night, but I got enough of a taste to know that this will be occupying me for a good while.
