I had an argument like that once. My response in between calling the guy an ignorant jerk was to tell him I had worked with a vet that was in Patton’s 3rd army and when they rolled into Germany and found the first of the camps they found, he and all his company were so disgusted by the inhumanity of the Nazis that by that night, every SS officer had resisted surrender or tried to escape with the expected results. In his own words he said,
“I don’t particularly like Jews, I was taught they killed Jesus, but nothing excuses what was done to them and no matter how much you do not like Jews, to deny what happened to them is a crime. I think everyone flying a Nazi Flag should be considered an enemy of the US, we made peace with the German people, not the Nazi Party.”
He then went on in livid details about how he thought they should be allowed to shoot Neo-Nazis. I guess overall I agreed with most of what he said. {Except the killing Jesus part, that was a little weird.}

Isn’t this the church that goes to the funerals of military members killed in combat saying we are all being punished for ‘all the homosexuality going on’? They were recently given orders to keep a certain distance from these funerals but it is being challenged in the courts, with the help of the ACLU.
This is not a new thing. Here’s the Snopes article on it. Traditionally it is alleged that Blacks and gays were targeted by the government for elimination.
Yes, it’s loony, but you would be amazed how many public figures and allegedly well-educated people believe it.

For some reason, I tend to confuse Westboro Baptist with Landover Baptist.
Let me see a couple of things here -
- Overcrowding causes homesexuality
- God is omnipotent
- The Bible is the literal word of God
- The Bible says humans should be fruitful and multiply
Is it just me, or did God knowingly create the conditions for homosexuals? That of course is a half assed interpretation of my understanding of the fundy mindset.
Actually, I think this might be true; I had to travel on a very crowded tube train a month or two back and when I arrived at Tottenham Court Road, I was twelve percent homosexual. Fortunately, the onward journey was less busy, so it wore off pretty fast.
For male rats, in a behavioral sink. Plenty of homosexual rats even under ideal conditions (good restaurants, opera, female rat AA groups, etc.).

I’ve often contemplated a (slightly) similar theory…that some portion of homosexual behavior in the human populace may be an instinctual and/or hard-coded and/or indirect response to global over-population.
We’re nowhere near being able to even try to study such musings though.
In my warped world view, the lack of inherent procreation is a value-added service of my particular perversions.
