Work to make prostitution legal. Know the prostitutes in question so that you can get a feel for whether they are being exploited or are actually in it for the free trade. Make sure they are legal adults - and hopefully women who have been legal adults for several years.

I wouldn’t start lamenting about the money squandered on prostitutes until that amount reaches six figures. That’s indicative of a problem. Or it was my problem, at least. Just know that lots of people have experience with things that nobody talks about. Societal stigmatization is powerful and oppressive. It doesn’t mean you can’t find kindred spirits who can relate to you. This message board just might be the wrong place.

Unfortunately, doing those things is as hard or harder than finding a fuck buddy. Ethically using the services of prostitutes in a locality where prostitution is illegal is simply logistically difficult - even if you don’t have an ethical problem with prostitution as a concept. Prostitutes are not about to show you a drivers licenses to prove they are over eighteen and not about to tell you that 90% of their fee goes to their pimp.

So the girl I had a good time with texted me asking if I wanted to see her (Backpage has been shutdown, so a lot of them are reaching out to their old clients)… I decided, what the hell, I’ll do thus one last time before quitting forever.

Not really. In Vegas, a guy took me to a French restaurant where the bill with tip was $300 and then to see the “Michael Jackson One” show at the Mandalay for $217 a ticket. We had drinks afterwards at the Madarin Oriental Sky Lounge. Add it all up and divide by two, and that comes to almost $600.
