Horrified at the money I've squandered on prostitutes

Gee, I feel like I’d have to be dating one hell of a high maintenance woman for that to be possible.

Just try a Russian dating site. I guaranty you that you’ll get screwed like never before. Maybe she can teach you to play poker too.

Why are you offended? If I were a man and seeking a sex worker I would think disease would be second on my worry list under LE interference. I admit I kinda don’t like germs, but there’s a reason sex workers get tested frequently. It’s common knowledge the adult film industry and those brothels require testing for their employees. A street hooker or a back page advertiser may not be so inclined. I’m just saying. YMMV.

I suspect that comment had something to do with me

Well yeah but it was worth it. I only paid for a small part of everything like horribly expensive restaurants and half of it was for me. Her ex-husband was the one paying for her 2 million dollar house and everything else. I was just the one screwing her although an actual escort still would have been cheaper. Russian women really are extremely good at separating you from your money if you aren’t extremely careful though.

That is why my real girlfriend now is an extremely kind Episcopal Priest with modest tastes in everything.

Pull the other one; it’s got bells on.

I’m not offended (as I said in my post). And you didn’t say anything about being worried about STDs. Your statement pretty much assumed that the prostitute (the 6) did have an STD. A very negative stereotype.

I’ve seen studies that show that prostitutes have lower STD rates than the general population (I think it was in the UK, I can’t find the study right now). Most girls work fairly safely and get tested often (especially in the US, if I read the relevant discussion boards). That’s nothing more than being responsible.

You seem to feel the need to make a point about girls being diseased. I don’t know why, but it seems to be mostly based on (bad) assumptions. In any case, it didn’t seem like you had the OP’s health in mind when you posted it. But maybe that’s just me.

Dude, seriously. You’re getting off cheap.

You know I don’t know any sex workers and have never been in the market for one, I am just going on my intuition that they may be more likely to catch an STD most likely from some man carrying it. It wouldn’t be her fault except for the fact she’s selling her body. She may have noble reasons for doing so, but she’s in a high risk job for catching a communicatable STD. Kindergarten teachers run the risk of catching viruses from their students. Butcher’s run the risk of missing fingers. It’s all what you’re willing to risk.

“He spent most of his fortune on fast cars, strong drink, and loose women, and the rest he squandered.”

Cheer up Shaggy, things are bound to look up.

Including her taste in men.

That can take a lot of effort. The brain is the primary sex organ, which must be satisfied for there to be a happy ending. Finding the ideal way to accomplish that on a daily basis can prove quite challenging, as one either has to obtain fresh source material from time to time or maintain an active, dynamic imagination.

Of course, the Fleshlight handled correctly can greatly relieve the mental task of off-getting, and with self-checkout at many stores these days, you can avoid the condescending glances of the cashier and other customers as you buy a fresh tube of K-Y so that you can keep using it.

If all of that is too hard, I suppose there are automated prostate massage devices that could do the job without engaging one’s brain beyond getting it in place and operating.

I would be extremely surprised if you could find any prostitute anywhere in the world who doesn’t have herpes, at least. But you’re unlikely to catch it from one, because a similar proportion of people who frequent prostitutes also already have it.

I’m all for not making assumptions, but an assumption that sex workers probably have higher rates of STDs really does not seem unreasonable.

From a quick google:

I’m certainly not an expert, and I haven’t read the cited studies here first hand; and I’m sure there’s huge variation depending upon the type of sex worker and their circumstances. But really I think the burden is on you to provide to provide data to support your counterintuitive claim.

If the statistics support the idea that visiting a sex worker puts your health at risk, it’s no more something you can dismiss as a “negative stereotype” than the fact that a polar bear may eat you is a negative stereotype about polar bears.

They’re also fairly likely to be underaged and under the abusive control of a pimp.

I’ll set the timer. Someone will be along shortly to explain how they’re all just college girls paying for school, or women saving up for early retirement the easy way. Prostitutes are all happy and have willing chosen the life, doncha know, and we’re ignorant fools for thinking otherwise about any of them. Don’t even mention drugs.

Well, with drugs, the first one is always free.

So if I see the woman I mentioned that I had a nice experience with, say every other month, and pay $150 per visit, would you say I would be spending significantly less money than the typical guy with a girlfriend?

Girlfriends aren’t about getting laid, guy.

Look, if all you’re interested in is getting off, minimize your damage.

Get a good masturbatory aid, and resort to live cam stuff.

No, it’s not in person. But even disregarding other issues, you’re much less likely to be aiding in human trafficking…though the possibility still exists.
