TLD I’m ashamed of you Cecil Bear follows rugby not AFL (stoopid aerial ping pong). Of course if he had to go to an AFL game he would support the Brisbane Lions. But he’d rather watch the QLD massacre NSW at the State of Origin final.
As for countryside visits I think he may enjoy some wine tasting in the Yarra Valley. Domain Chandon here we come…

Yeah, I don’t mind being tour leader if that’ll help. Two ways to do this: I gather all the info from Aussie dopers, and send it on to you, Jodi, and you can fit us all into your scheduling, or you just send him to me, we work out a total time he’ll spend in Australia, and I look after it from there. The first option might be better for you if you want to keep track of him yourself, or you may prefer the second if you don’t want the hassle of doing that. Either way is fine with me.
So far, Mr Bear is booked for our two biggest cities, Sydney and Melbourne, plus a side trip to the Central Coast of New South Wales, which is a beachy kinda place. We’ll try and hook up some other interstate Dopers who will be willing to show him the other side of the continent, or the far north.
Goo has started this thread about CtB on the G’Dope board. I’ll keep an eye on that one for you (still only the OP there at this stage), and keep you informed of any developments at this end.
Hokay! CTB is in the air as of this morning. First stop on his whirlwind tour: Edmonton, in beautiful downtown Alberta. His host is the lovely and talented CanadianSue, who may be in touch with other E’ton Dopers to see if they have the copious free time and any interest in touring a stuffed animal about town for pictures.
After that, he’s off to Punyova in St. Paul, Minnesota for Porkapalooza, then after that to Lucretia for MountainDope in Virginia – another chance to meet multiple Dopers. After that he’s, uh . . . um . . . well, I haven’t planned past that. But here’s to him having a great time in Edmonton.

Oxford is a nice enough place for a visit. CTB could see the colleges, and get thrown out of the same pubs as C.S. Lewis.
If no other UK dopers get involved, I could take him up to London. Easy enough to forward him from there (just stick a pair of wellies and a duffel coat on him, and drop him off at the appropriate station… only kidding!)
