Scuba, Storyteller’s only information-gaining power was tracking, and he told us what he got from that, so there’s no breadcrumbs to be had from him. Did you get him mixed up with Pants? Pants was the Detective; Story was the jack-of-all-trades.
You’re right; I did. I got Story’s role confused an n’th time just now, too.
So I’ll look for possible hidden messages from Pants from Day 2 on. (I don’t suppose anybody’s found anything yet?) I know acrostics are popular; over in Seuss on the Geeb the masons breadcrumbed with acrostics.
I don’t recall that discussion, can you point us to it?
I’m not sure how **Astral **making several voluminous posts like he did would *distract *attention from him…
Ok. Perhaps you know that song better as “It would seem to me that Astral is trying for some extra town cred*.”
- Not saying it’s well deserved or not, I’m just sayin.
Is this your personal belief, or are you actually talking about a conversation that’s happened in-game?
Going from “wasn’t there a discussion about…?” to “Well, it’s possible is all I’m saying!” doesn’t seem like you’re convincingly trying to find scum. It seems more like you’re saying “Anybody? Anybody want to jump on Astral? Cuz like, you totally could!”
Make a case against me. Beating around the bush helps no one.
The loudspeaker turned on and the heroes could hear a lot of shuffling, thumping, and banging around. Finally, the voice came on again. It sounded inebriated.
No, seriously, he sounded massively drunk. And really upset.
“Hey, you pepa…peeeeepa…people…shtart voding! I wan’ voting! Don’ make me ged angy…angry! When I get ang…ang…angy…I get…angry! Grrrrrrr!!!”
It sounded like he was crying now. Sobbing, actually.
“Nah, I luv’ you heroes. I do. I do!!! I schwar it! I do!!! Fahget it! Fahget everting…everything.”
Whew. That was close. He sounded irrational there for a bit.
“Hey. You get with the arguing or I get with the…making you have less time. Yeah, I’ll shorten this Day by 24 hours if you don’t get going, heroes. You want that? Do you want that? Well, do ya’?”
Seriously, do you want me to start shortening the Days? I’m cool with that, but I will give you to Thursday if you want. There aren’t too many players left, though, so I’m open to shortening the Day/Night cycle if you want. Let me know.
I don’t care either way. Maybe a mass claim would be good if for no other reason but it might actually prompt some posts.
Idle has been very low key, and the vote for me seems particularly phoned-in. I will be looking him over.
Sorry about not posting but my son goes back to school tomorrow (Tuesday night for those in the US). I have been reading and following along but I haven’t been able to spend enough time examining each poster to be helpful. I’ll be seriously contributing then.
I’m OK with shortening the days. I just need until Tuesday night to be helpful (or at least talkative).
One last thought: we should not be lynching Cookies toDay based on what we guess her choice was. We should save her for last if that is our only “evidence”. If her posts and votes lead us to think she’s scum, then we should lynch her.
I don’t think Day-shortening is in order until at least such time as we have a mass-claim (which will probably happen eventually, but doesn’t look like it’s happening toDay).
Actually, a thought about mass-claiming: If there’s a confirmed Townie when it comes up, that Townie generally sets an order for the claims. Now, we do currently have a confirmed Townie, but it’s anyone’s guess how long he’s going to live. Is there any reason why Red Skeezix shouldn’t list an order now, so in case he’s dead when we decide to claim, we can refer back to his order?
I’m quite a bit bothered by **Meeko **Today.
He opened up with a vote for** Scuba_Ben**, accompanied by the comment “How did that saying go? Vote Early, Vote Often?”. As soon as I question his reasoning, he unvotes, saying, “I read the statement that someone had more time than usual. Didn’t recall Ben said that. Vote was entirely based on his prior statement that he wanted to be subbed out.”
Maybe someone else can tell me exactly what that’s supposed to mean, because I’ve read it a dozen times and still can’t parse it. I can’t help feeling that Meeko read something somewhere that wasn’t here and made a vote based on it.
And recently he’s asking us to recall a discussion about **Astral **(“that Astral was WOWing to distract attention from him”) that I don’t recall having taken place. Or perhaps he’s just saying he thinks Astral was trying to gain Town cred. He doesn’t seem to be entirely sure.
Aside from a niggling worry that the lovers may have been cross-denominational, I’d be fine if Red chose the order.
Chronos, how do you mean the questions, rhetorical, in general to the game, or directly to Skeezix?
And I wasn’t sure we had confirmed Skeezix, per se. Granted, our cop is gone and given the language of a “lover” role, it would seem indeed we only have two masons.
All of this to say, I think the question on if we should claim lies squarely on Skeezix.
I don’t have any tremendously strong suspicions of anyone at this point. At the moment, I’m leaning towards voting for Cookies, based not on her target but on the fact that she killed in the first place (the same argument I made Yesterday). But I am bothered by **Meeko’s **behavior Today, as I just mentioned. And when I look back over Scuba_Ben’s contribution to the game…well, there just hasn’t been much. Of course, he’s told us why, and even asked to be subbed out at one point, but I’m not sure if that should earn him a pass or not.
I’m not in favor of shortening Today, because I think we’re going to need all the time we can get so we can have enough participation to help make an informed decision.
This didn’t happen?
And This Didn’t happen?
**Vote Plankton. **
You are trying to incite me, and your cases are straining harder than a constipated bulimic and I think you take me for a lesser player.
Not gonna happen.
Meeko,
I suppose I can give you the first one, if that’s what you were talking about. I still don’t understand “voe early, vote often”, but I suppose my understanding was not your primary intent in making the statement, so whatever.
But in the second case, you still haven’t pointed out “the discussion that Astral was WOWing to distract attention from him”. You’ve just pointed out one of his WOWs, which most definitely *did *happen.
The second case is below. Let me take another pass at the first one again :
My unvote came because I realized that Scuba_Ben is now back to playing. He had asked to be subbed. I voted him, as a placeholder vote. I voted him thinking he still wanted out. The epitome of dead weight. If you can find a better placeholder vote, be my guest.
But he is back playing, and I re-read that post where he said he is back. Hence I unvoted.
Vote early Vote often has been adopted by our Mafia community, and I always fail to recall who started it. I want to say MHaye or some other Non-Meeko M name.
I was using Vote early vote often to emphasize that this [the vote on ben] was less than permanent.
Bold Added.
This is a discussion that Astral is Wowing. YMMV on if the red herring is implied here.
We presumably did only have two Masons, but even if we had more, Skeezix would still be confirmed. The only way he wouldn’t be would be if we had only one Mason, but that’s a contradiction in terms.
How do you reconcile that with nothing is confirmed until death, and sometimes not even then? In general, I follow your logic.
I’m 99.99% sure Skeezix is confirmed. You are at 100%. Not looking for an argument here, Chronos, just stating where I am with all of it.
I always think of “Vote early, vote often” as being associated with Chicago politics…but maybe that’s just me. I can understand you wanting to vote Ben for non-participation; I still haven’t ruled that out myself, as I noted earlier.
I wouldn’t exactly define “a comment made by one player” as a “discussion”, but thank you for providing the context for your statement.
