They put House against The Big Bang Theory?
Those bastards!
I liked in its Tuesday time slot. Fox did this last year, too. They moved it from Tuesday to Monday. Then back to Tuesday for Season 5. Now back to Monday again. I wish they’d at least settle on a night and leave it alone.
I think the timeslot shenanigans are due to American Idol. FOX doesn’t want its two biggest draws competing for use of a single timeslot.
You’re right. I don’t really pay attention to American Idol, but now that it’s starting again, that does make sense. And my DVR finds House, no matter where it’s moved to, so that really isn’t a problem, I suppose.
I KNOW! I’m going to catch House later…I can’t not watch BBT.
Interesting episode. I suffered greatly through the usual Thirteen angst, but they certainly redeemed themselves on that point at the end. Hahahahahahaha!
Yay for Cuddy. First brushing off House at the beginning, then taking a lesson from Wilson, who really had something intelligent to say. I like watching Cuddy and Wilson interact – mutual respect, such a refreshing change.
Yeah, BIG personal and ethical dilemma for Foreman coming up.
Looking forward to seeing more Cameron.
I missed whatever comment the nurse made to Foreman near the end regarding 13. Did she say she smelled disgusting or something like that?
Wile E - Foreman told the nurse about the IV leaking. THe nurse apologized and made a comment about how the stuff smelled horrible. Foreman that he didn’t smell anything and the nurse said, “she must be on the placebo, then.”
StG
The bit about the placebo was interesting, and I had to smile when House pulled on the pipe at the end and realized it was his fault all along. Has the man never heard of installing a grab bar? Sheesh, I’ve got several here and I’m not in chronic pain.
So we’re getting more Cameron, we’ve got full time Foreman. Chase is still relegated to the obligatory moment of surgery. Did Jesse Spencer piss the producers off with his awesome electric violin playing or what?
Indeed! Between that and another show I tivo House had to go. Guess I’ll catch it in repeats.
Wasn’t this supposed to be a double-blind trial?
YES, and the nurse just committed an unbelievable breach of ethics. Completely beyond the pale to reveal that!
Dammit, I FORGOT to make a note of it.
:fumes:
Now I have to wait 8 days to see it on Hulu. Crap.
I thought the same thing - and I’m neither a doctor nor a scientist!
Wouldn’t the drug company also want to make the placebo have the same aroma as the drug, or no?
One might also question if the nurse made a faulty assumption about the aroma. It would be a better ironic twist if the aroma bags were placebo.
But since this is obviously a plot driven device, of course the nurse would drop that hint to Foreman and the hint would come at the end of an episode for dramatic effect. Forget about double-blind studies and the unlikelihood of Lori Petty getting better so fast… no need for reality to intrude on the drama.
Coupla things I didn’t care for last night - especially in terms of what they hint for the long run.
Don’t buy the relationship between Foreman and 13, so not thrilled that it is clearly going to be a big plot element. The whole “study” seems so unrealistic and unprofessional on so many levels. I know there are any number of “unrealities” in this series - this just happens to be one that bugs me.
I don’t care for them portraying Cuddy as an idiot re: the childcare. It is so unrealistic that a person in her position would not realize the importance of arranging for reliable help. If she were so concerned about this visit, she would not need to let her house get in the condition it was. And I’m always a tad bothered by scenes where a new parent takes their kid to work, as tho that wouldn’t affect their job. Just saying - lots of people with far fewer resources than her become firts-time parents without completely spazzing.
Fox and I think Hulu puts up House episodes online 8 days after broadcast.
