Amy Irving is the guest star.
A children’s book author (of whom House is a fan—imagine that) is having seizures.
What?! It might actually be lupus?!
It hasn’t aired here yet, but it would be funny if that really was the case.
And finally the reason that “it’s never …”
Because it’s uncurable
Amy Irving was brilliant, a good hard foil for House in his Cuddy cuddling phase.
The go-kart scene was fun, loved House’s fixing the problem succinctly.
The end, well, think the writer read the end result in House and Cuddy’s reactions, and knew that it wasn’t as said, but appreciated it as a whole, and got the gist of why they saved her. tryin’ to be unspoilered, here.
spoilering because it’s just starting PDT
REALLY? They went there?
Oh look, it’s a sad, suicidal woman and we can’t figure out what is wrong with her because she won’t tell us. Hey, she’s got a piece of metal in her that we can use to identify her. Hey, she’s got a dead kid that was killed in a car accident that she was responsible for.
I’m not talking about tonight’s. I’m talking about the rabies episode from very early on in the show’s run.
While in some ways the plot was very different tonight, there were too many similarities to that one and it really pissed me off.
The go-karting was cool and I like to think the lack of good writing elsewhere was made up by a writer or propmaster who deliberately chose the red and green helmets for the ladies, which made them look like Mario Kart’s red and green turtle shells.
I didn’t mind House/Cuddy and I liked his restraint at the end.
That was Amy Irving who was the POTW? That explains a lot. She was TERRIBLE and hammy to me, which didn’t help.
Love the references to Stephen King’s Midery–“Dirty birdie,” and the fictional character named Duncan. The plot was the #1 fan )dpctpr omstead pf nurse) holding the author hostage and getting upset when the novel’s character dies in the end.
House would make a fine male Annie Wilkes.
I’ll just come out and say that I do not like the House/Cuddy relationship dynamic this season. As a matter of fact, the episodes have been boring to me so far. Chase, Taub and Forman are boring. I can’t believe I miss 13, but there it is.
Better episode for me–a POTW who wasn’t entirely obnoxious, and the Huddy plot backgrounded. Still, House is rapidly becoming a show that I watch more out of a sense of loyalty rather than any real excitement–I’m more pumped for SW: The Clone Wars every week than I am for House.
“Smoking hot babe”.
Literally - puff puff.
I’d like to see how House interacts with Cuddy’s rarely-seen kid.
He’d probably whack Cuddy’s kid with his cane. For no discernable reason.
He might actually treat Cuddy’s daughter with tenderness because she’s too young to lie. Just my WAG.
Is it just me or is this season incredibly formulaic?:
Ep 1: House + Cuddy: the personal life.
Ep 2: H+C: the work relationship
Ep 3: H+C: the next step.
Only if H+C are on life support at the end of Ep3 and Ep4 starts off with House haveing a “light bulb moment” and saving it just after he damn near kills it.
