House 11/28

And not just the hospital files, but everyone’s background and history. Cameron’s marriage to the cancer guy, Chase’s family history…

That’s it. When he comes out of it, it will be revealed that the entire hospital staff is actually on the island in Lost

You must not have watched the previews for the next episode. Wilson says he made a deal and starts to describe it (I think it was two months rehab for House and no jail time). There are also scenes that House won’t take the deal and Cuddy suspends him.

I am really disliking the whole David Morse storyline.

The problem with House - and don’t get me wrong, I love the show - is that if we stopped to think about it, we know it’s all wrong. Sure he’s brilliant, but no matter how brilliant, no hospital would keep a drug addicted doctor who constantly puts patients in danger and verbally abuses both patients and staff. It’s too much.

But I’m fine with that, as long as they don’t make it the focus of the story.

Then along comes Tritter (who I always wanna call Sgt. Trotter) and says “Hey everybody, look! He’s a drug addict! And he’s mean! And he’s reckless! Look, he’s doing it again!”

It’s like having Scotty calling Kirk and saying “I’m sorry Captain, but I’ve been over it with all my engineering crew, and we’ve figured out the problem: it turns out that travelling faster than the speed of light is impossible.”

It just destroys the illusion, you know?

But all that aside, I agree with dropzone. Lisa Edelstein is hot.

Much as I love Dr. House (the old curmudgeon), I’d take Dr. Jack Shepherd over him anyday.

Well, yes, but Chase blurted out what was wrong, and House didn’t even consider it, he just hit Chase. It wasn’t just stopping him from leaving; similarly, it wasn’t just blurting out the solution that House couldn’t come up with. You’d think, if House had just ordered double-amputation on a child, and someone comes up and says, “Wait! Consider this!” that House (even House) would stop.

My point was that their justification for covering up has always been what Cutty said to the judge: he’s a jerk, but he’s very good at what he does. His medical brilliance has been the excuse for them covering for him. And now, they no longer have that excuse: he’s let his personal situation (drugs or lack thereof) get in the way of his medical judgement.

I have to note that once Chase started explaining it to House—who seemed shocked enough that he’d hit Chase—then you see him getting his “reading an invisible book” look. He might have initially dismissed Chase as just grasping at straws to stop the surgery, but when he started backing his theory up with facts—House “dialed in” immediately.
