Plus the hostage who vomited all over. The place needed a total steam-cleaning, not just redecoration.
Bah. Forgot about that.
Didn’t someone get shot (non-fatally, but still bullet), too?
Yeah, the guy shot a hostage in the leg early on. I think. (Or am I thinking about a scene from Prison Break?)
No, there was the blood too. But that would just require new carpet. The vomit, though . . . fumigation!
Yeah, same here. I don’t mind the banter (it’s unprofessional but not worse than the other crap that goes on, and not worse than her inappropriate outfits) but them in a relationship? Neither one is ready for that.
I had a question about the patient and her disease. Since she felt so much better after one piece of cake did she really need such a high carb/high fat diet that she wouldn’t be able to keep up with it by exercising? It seems to me that with a reasonable diet with good carbs and fats along with exercise and she wouldn’t have to become a porker* again.
*No offense meant to porkers, I myself am a bit of a porker.
Yes, I didn’t see how one serving (even a large one) would have her turn the corner so quickly. Of course a lot of his patients bounce right back after being halfway through death’s doorway.
This was kind of a sad catch 22 at the end, and reminded me of the very sad one, I think on Chicago Hope, where Mia Sara was a transgendered woman who would have had to stop taking her hormones to recover from another disease, and couldn’t face it and killed herself.
Yup, that was Chicago Hope – just saw it on fancast.com a couple of weeks ago.
Og, I hope Cuddy eventually walks away from House. She’s only going to know nothing but pain from a relationship with him and she’s too smart to set herself up for that. I don’t care how brilliant or handsome he is, nothing would be worth that sort of torture on a daily basis.
Oh, and as soon as I so the Patient of this Episode, I figured out that she had to be Marley Shelton’s (of Death Proof fame) sister. Hopefully one day her acting chops will be on the same par. Also, did anyone catch Brad Grunberg’s name in the opening credits? He’s the brother of Greg (Alias, Heroes) that is part of the same band as Hugh Laurie. Interesting.
Didn’t House have to deal with an ex-wife a lot in the first season, or something like that? What happened to her? When I stopped watching regularly, I seem to recall, I had the impression they were getting back together or something.
-FrL-
She was an ex-girlfriend, played by Sela Ward.
She was the woman who decided on the surgery for his leg, that he didn’t agree to. They broke up because of that and she came back into his life when her new husband Mark needed treatment. She also took a lawyer job at Princeton/Plainsboro. House wanted her to choose between them, she chose House, and they slept together. Then House told her it would never work out and they parted ways again.
Haha, House is such a jerk.
-FrL-
Yep, in that he got her all turned around, just to see if he could win. But what he ended up saying about their future was true.
Stacy: I’m going to talk to Mark tonight. And I’m going to stay here with you.
House: Don’t do it.
Stacy: This isn’t funny, Greg.
House: I know.
Stacy: You… spent all these months chasing me. Now I’m here and you start running? What the hell changed?
House: Nothing. Nothing changes. I’m not going to change.
Stacy: Who asked you to?
House: Mark is willing to do whatever it takes. I’m not. Never was.
Stacy: Oh, now you’re introspective? Weren’t so analytical the other night.
House: You were happy with Mark. You’ll be happy again.
Stacy: Shut up about Mark. What the hell’s wrong with you?
House: I can’t make you happy!
Stacy: What?
House: How do you think this is gonna end? We’ll be happy for what? A few weeks, few months. And then I’ll say something insensitive, or I’ll start ignoring you. And at first it’ll be okay. It’s just House being House. And then at some point, you will need something more. You’ll need someone who can give you something I can’t. You know I’m right. I’ve been there before.
Stacy: Oh. Oh. It doesn’t have to be.
House: It does. It does. I don’t want to go there again. I’m sorry, Stacy.
Didn’t House after that episode try to get back together with her, and it was working (doing dishes, trapping the rat), but she realized that he’d read her Therapist’s file, and was trying to act like the guy she wanted, so she kicked him out permanently?
She’s very smart, no doubt about that. But the brain often takes a holiday when the libido kicks in.
No, she didn’t kick him out permanently, she grudginly forgave him. The conversation gigi quoted was the last one between them.
I thought they didn’t have sex. They were away on some trip (can’t remember why) and they wanted to and were going to, but didn’t because Cameron, Chase, and Foreman needed help diagnosing a patient. Didn’t he spend the time on the phone with them instead?
When they came back from the trip, Stacy wanted to leave her husband for House and that’s when House told her it wouldn’t work out.
I think Cuddy has the brains to match him, but I’m not sure she can resist him. I think anyone expecting anything from his is setting themselves up for disappointment.
I am glad he mentioned the way she dresses, though. I work at a hospital and none of our Directors dress that way.
