House 5/11

I was a bit confused about the Cuddy/Wilson interaction when she said something like, “I thought you were going to ask about me and House.” After watching it again, I guess that could’ve meant about the blow up they had the night before, and not sex.

Why do you think that? Have either Jesse Spencer or Jennifer Morrison commented on the breakup? Is there any reason to believe they didn’t remain friends? Maybe the decision was mutual and the Cameron/Chase storyline brings back good memories for them. It’s been a couple of years since they broke up. Maybe that’s been enough time to come to terms with the end of their relationship. I know they’re professionals and have to work with the scripts, but are there any articles to indicate that Morrison and Spencer despise each other?

Not picking on you specifically, but others have made similar comments. I’ve never been engaged, so I have no personal experience to relate to dealing with a broken engagement.

So he will make brilliant diagnoses of a whole new cast of institutionalized patients. He will help them escape the clutches of the psychiatrists who will resent him and attempt to shut him down. This could become a new version of “One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest”.

I don’t think we’ll see House in detox. I think we’ll come back to him at the hospital, struggling and grumping and on a provisional liscense. I think Foreman will have to oversee his medical decisionmaking.

Really, does he need a lisence to do what he does? the team does most of the tests, medicating, etc. He could easily be team leader and chief consultant without a license. He’d just have to find somebody willing to risk their own license every time he wants to do something really “out there.”

“Liesense” refuses to look right no matter how I spell it, so I think I’ve tried all the possibilities here. Sorry about that!

I’m sure he has to have a license. He’s an attending physician. He’s responsible, ultimately, for everything the others do. (Well, not Foreman, who’s clearly an attending as well at this point, and maybe not Taub. He’s reponsible for 13, anyway.)

So, I decided to google it and found this:

Wedding Pics

Huh?

Ohhhhhhhh, Eesh! Ouch, ouch ouch! ! !

It was afterwards

How awful, can you imagine? On the cover of a magazine in your wedding dress and then having to cancel it?

Wow! It’s just soooo Cameron. . .

I agree that this episode would have been a good place to end the series. Unfortunately American television doesn’t end series’ when they have run their course, they cancel them when viewership drops. Which is usually a season after the series has run its course.

But if the show is to continue, we should be shown some of House’s adventures in the mental hospital. Another thing American series’ sometimes do, is end on a big dramatic note in the spring. When the next season starts, whatever the Big Issue was is dismissed with a couple of lines about what occurred to resolve the issue, and then they continue on with business as usual.

Did anyone else notice that in those cuts back and forth from the psychiatric hospital to the wedding, the three folks waiting on House disappeared and re-appeared? Bad editing, or more psychosis?

Who played the PotW? He was kinda cute! I liked him.

Very creepy awesome episode and I laughed out loud like crazy at some of the things House said, only to dissolve in tears at the end. Wonderful! Can’t wait for next season.

I suspect the country is littered with mossy abandoned psych hospitals. The one in House, though, reminded me of Greystone, which is maybe 90 minutes or so from Princeton (if they do their exteriors in Princeton besides the hospital I suppose it would be handy). It’s over the hill from where I grew up and “a patient escaped from Greystone with a butcher knife!” was a staple when I was a pup. All the old buildings were taken out of service long ago.

That’s it. Got to be.

Yep.

It looks like we will be seeing some shows from the actual facility. Interesting! !

Yeah. In fact, I came here specifically to ask about that line, but then worked it out that that’s what she was referring to. Clever bit of writing, though.

I wasn’t assuming they despised each other; I just put myself in their shoes and think, for me, yeah, it would be weird to have to act out a wedding with someone I’d been engaged to and subsequently broken up with, even if we were on good terms and had ended things amicably. Yes, they’re professional actors, but they’re also humans, so surely they couldn’t fail to notice the irony. Hopefully they laughed at it together and that was the end of it, but I just can’t imagine not feeling a little weird about it.

I was thinking the same thing. I didn’t mind when his crazy hand started undressing him.

Check your DVR settings. Mine will let me adjust the start and stop time settings by a few minutes. I used to have a similar problem but with a different show (LOST) and at the beginning, not the end.

Wow TruCelt found something on the interwebs that’s not true! - Sorry to be snarky, but this is why we tell the students at the high school to be wary when they research, esp on t he internet.

Just want to say I called the whole Cuddy/House thing as a hallucination in the thread 2 weeks ago, but was told it wouldn’t be, because the producers had said something real would happen, etc. So I was actually a little bummed that they took the easy way out on it. Also, do people actually hallucinate having sex with others? That seems pretty iffy to me, for some reason.

She said they needed to talk and he saw her high neckline and said “Isn’t that like locking the barn door after someone had their face between your breasts for an hour and a half?” or similar and she ignored it like she does his usual crass jokes. Later she says how they don’t have a relationship and never will…all this anger and angst on her part must have come from his one comment.

Shoot! I deleted the episode, what did she say? I forget.

And I’m not convinced he’s insane. Addicted, yes.
