This Tuesday, Gregory House, MD, kicks off the new season of the series by returning to work after having been shot. Complications with other patients’ maladies accompany this, of course.
As much as I am fascinated by House, I gotta tell ya: I really like Wilson. Hope they continue to give him more screen time.
Just a reminder for people - the show is airing at 8:00 PM Eastern / 7:00 PM Central, not 9:00 PM / 8:00 PM as it has the previous two years. (At least, that’s what the local Fox affiliate is doing, but I’m pretty sure that carries over to any area.)
I’ve already set up the DVR for series recording since I don’t usually get around to paying attention to what’s on tv until 8:30 or so (since Himself doesn’t get off work until 8:00.)
I’m torn; as much as I like House, do I like it more than Gilmore Girls? Definitely not. OTOH, who knows if GG is going to be as good this year now that it’s got a new show runner. Grumble grumble stupid networks, programming two shows I want to watch at the same time.
Having caught House a couple of months ago while channel surfing, and having realized in 5 minutes the show was good, in 10 minutes that the show was damn good, and becoming addicted in about 15 minutes, I’m still ass kicking myself I didn’t watch it sooner.
Like you, Annie X-Mas, I did not start watching until the summer re-runs. What a fantastic show. I was fortunate enough to catch the season finale so I am up to speed for this season.
Can’t wait for tonight’s episode!
A friend turned me on to the show not long ago, so I’ve been catching up via Netflix DVDs. Still waiting for the remaining second season DVDs; so I’m going to be taping the new shows so I can watch them in sequence once I’ve seen all of Season Two.
I knew there was something in particular about the character that appealed to me; it became clearer when I saw that House’s address was 221-B.
We just rewatched the finale of season 2 last night, so we are ready to go!
I don’t know if this should be in a spoiler or not, but just in case:
The whole thing was a lot less confusing the second time around. AFAICT, the whole show was unconscious, the patient with the tongue problem only existed prior to the shooting, all the random complications were just House’s brain trying to fix things, and it was also his own diagnosis and recommended treatment for his injuries. That’s why he asked for ketamine - he had read a study about it related to pain, and it’s what he would have chosen for another patient
I’ve just recently started watching the reruns of House on USA (Friday nights at 11 if memory serves.) Does anyone know how far behind the current series these are running?
Also, is it worth picking up the series at it’s present point (starting at tonight’s season premiere) with my knowledge of the series (possibly) severely behind?
Well, since it aired 2 to 3 hours ago depending on where you’re at I am not going to box spoilers.
I think it was silly for Wilson to tell Cuddy not to tell House he was right about the guy because several people in the hospital saw what happened and word gets around, also the wife could eventually stop by to thank House in person.
Also, is it really feasible that after so many years of vegetablism would one shot “cure” him that quickly?
I’m sure House will discover the truth eventually. Nobody in that hospital is very good at keeping things secret for long, and he’s modeled after a detective, after all.
I’m wondering about the shot of cortisol too. It’s a stress hormone, isn’t it? Bit of a stretch, perhaps.
Was that Kathleen Quinlan as the paralyzed man’s wife? I recognized the kid as having been on Surface but I hadn’t noted the credits carefully.
I always enjoy the dynamic between House and Wilson.
This episode felt very, very wrong. I kept thinking it was another dream like last season’s closer, but then it just… ended. Almost everyone ranged from moderately out of character to me saying, “There’s no fucking way.” Also, I can buy House’s leg not hurting anymore, but that doesn’t make his missing thigh muscles magically grow back. Running for miles and doing skateboard tricks is a bunch of bullshit.
