Just out of curiosity, if Airman Doors USAF is only now going to Basic, what’s the derivation of his name?
I am a major lurker. Occassionally I contribute a post. I live nowhere near Texas; but, I would appreciate it if someone attending Airman Doors send-off would relay the following message:
“I have read many of your posts, and I know how much your new career in the Air Force means to you. I recall posts in which you expressed how frustrated you have been with delays in finally getting to basic training. You have no idea who the hell I am, but I am glad that you are where you want to be. I truly wish you the best, Airman Doors. Please post when you can. Sincerely-Wartime Consigliori.”
I just talked to Airman and he’s about an hour or so from Tennessee. He’s making excellent time, so I expect him either VERY late Thursday or VERY early Friday. Not that I mind, of course.

It is with deep regret I must inform y’all that Mr Bear and I will be unable to make this shindig. Even though we will be in Katy tomorrow, till about 2p. <helping out his sister, then up to Austin to attend a Dining Out with luminousman, aka our son.>
Since we live in San Antonio, less than 10 minutes from Lackland AFB, we can get together with him here however. As soon as the powers that be allow him a little liberty, that is.

Unfortunately, although the official moving of HUGE f***ing heavy things is complete (can anyone say 10,000 pounds?), we’re still up to our necks in boxes. Plus, this will be the first complete weekend with the family in town. Sooo, I don’t expect I’ll be able to make it. You never know, I may decide to break away. But if I don’t, thanks anyway and good luck to Airman Dave!

Yep…Airman left the wonderful city of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, about four hours ago, after eating dinner with my friend and me.
Robin–you’ve got a lovely man. We had a good time.
(And Dave–my driving is SPECTACULAR, thanksverymuch.)
