Houston, Texas Dopers Recongregate!

Nope, not Jamaican.I just figured no one in the other 49 would have any idea where Lake Jackson, Tx is.

Yes! I know where Lake Jackson is (Do you get your groceries in Edna?).

Come to the meet!

Hey, I resent those aspersions being cast upon the fine weather here in New York. I’ll have you know we haven’t had any snow up here for almost five days now.

beatle: Take me on? Did you mean to type, “put me on”? Bwha ha ha!

Wish I could buddy but I only visit Houston, I don’t live there. But you have fun and have a cold beer for me! Hell, have two!

Best!

Voted most sex obsessed. (Yeah, blow me smart ass!)

Byz, I will and I do and something like that.

Anyway, this is a bump.

Woohoo beatle, early may sounds good to me.

In fact Lion and I will be celebrating our 22nd anniversary. I can’t think of any better people to spend it with. Unless of course we divorce or kill each other first. :stuck_out_tongue:

Early May looks good to me, too, so far. Or the next weekend, the 13-14th. After that I won’t be free til June.
'Cuz Hubby’s gonna be here!!!

From 18May til 31May!!!
Sorry, guys, can you tell I’m a little excited at that news??

Cess - probably not as much of an arts festival as the Westheimer one. This is really more of a fund-raising festival with a few art booths, some kiddie stuff, the normal festival food, some local bands. And damn near every dance studio in Tarrant County getting an hour on stage. It’s all rather sanitized - we’re usually the most exotic and counter-culture people there the whole weekend.

But I get to dance, and that’s all that matters to me.

…in a state so nonintuitive it can only be called weird…

Saw my name up there. I just recently started hanging aroun MPISM’s. Getting a little burned with Great Debates and want more fun.
The Westheimer arts Festival started as an art show. Much like many cities where the street closes and booths get set up. It evolved into more of a street party. The artists left to a new location. The street party remained until this year. At least some girl won’t make me do the skater joust.
But the neighbors are complaining. Ironically, the wild and free gay population has aged to affluent, somewhat conservative, property owners who have less tolerance for the same behaviour the did 15 years ago.

How dare they get old and cranky! I want my Westheimer Art Festival!

I would’ve gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for those meddling kids!

It was dyin’ - bump!

The street festival was still fun. It was strange hearing how it had gotten too big for the area when it was actually getting smaller each time.

Cassandra: Last week at Rudyards they put on a tape of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I had never seen it. Will the play be going on this year?

They had a protest for the Street fair about a month ago at The Oven. I had never seen one outside TV. My buds met at Rudyards, skated to the protest, then went to Sliders (Daquiri Factory), then I don’t remember. It must have been fun.

I have no shame - I’ll bump it again.

Seriously folks, we need to discern a plan!

beatle, I agree. I’d like to make plans to come on over there, but I’ll need the dates soon, if it’s to be in May, I need to plan ahead. So, I’ll help bump it back up again!
I repeat, the weekends of the 6-7th and 13-14th of May look the best for me.

Ooooh, early May could be good for me if it’s not too early. School supposedly ends May 10, which means I may get out earlier than that.

starfish, the play went through Austin not too long ago, and Rice was doing something (although I’m not sure if it was the play, or the movie with a cast), but that ended last week. Wish you’d asked sooner!

Now, you can always come see the movie on a Saturday night (midnight) at the River Oaks theatre. I’m playing this weekend for sure.

I’ll add my vote for May 6th-7th.

That way we kill several birds with one stone, we celebrate beatles birthday, Lion and I’s anniversary and get to meet new dopers too.

Now someone say where. We need a place thats new. And fairly cheap, I am expecting a nice present from Lion this year.

Did I hear my name? My ears are burnin’

Can’t do it on April 8-10, 15-16, May 6th or Memorial Day weekend. Otherwise, I’m good with anything.

OK, tryin’ to take into account what everybody has said. How about May 7th or a My 6th and 7th twofer?

Feedback?
