Hey HouDope crew! Company’s coming. Little Nemo will be here from the 13th through the 30th, so it’s time to start planning!

That gives us the weekends of the 14th, 21st and 28th.
Fire up some feedback - I’ll try to come up with some suggestions myself. And please check in, Houston. We’d like to get a few more of you out (Cess?, TheNerd?).

I think we need to get Little Nemo to let us know which weekend is best for him. What do we want to do ? Do we want to have a meeting that includes having a meal? Or do we just want to meet for drinks? And since he is the Doper of Honor, what kind of food, ect.

As I have said before, I’m on vacation so I’m free every weekend. Let me know what works best with all of your schedules. And if a weekday would be better that’s fine by me as well.
As for where we’re meeting, I have no problem meeting for a meal or for drinks (although I usually stick to the non-alcoholic drinks). I expect to have a car available most of the time I’m down there, so that shouldn’t be a problem. I can probably even pick people up if that’s helpful.
No problem, Cessandra, I have the Rocky Horror 4 CD box set and a CD writer. So all I have to do is find that CD in my collection … okay, “no problem” may have been too optimistic, but I’ve got nine days to look.

Where’s everybody starting from. I’m in the center of town and I know Ayesha and T. LION are north. Ayesha, I imagine y’all can get to just about anywhere on Richmond or Westheimer via Metro. Is that right?
I’m sure we’ll hear from Sealemon, Cess will be driving in…, so, Nemo and Longhorn, what parts of town are y’all starting out from?
The weekend of the 14th occurs at the end of my company’s Y2K vacation blackout. We had no problems at all, but since I’m already in trouble with the vacation people, I don’t want to rock any boats. It’s also past the 21 day window to buy cheap tickets.
The weekend of the 21st is the Superbowl. Nuff said.

Now I just need to find a place. I’m thinking one of those bar/restaurants along Richmond or Westheimer with a deck where Cess and Longhorn (if that’s the case) won’t have a problem getting in, or with the fact the SDMB Houston includes a few avid smokers. A meal is probably prescribed.
Gawd, I’m sorry it took me so long to respond to this! As far as I know, I should be available for the 30th(Sunday). Unfortuanatly, I work Fridays and Saturdays.
We’d really like to get you to come down here (I really wish I could have taken you up on the NYE invite). I imagine from what you posted that you need to know something firm from us by the 7th. OK, well I’m gonna push. You can absolutely count on me, Nemo, Ayesha and T. LION. Sealemon is a high probability (checked in while i typed this) and we’ve yet to see about Cess and Longhorn, There’s a half-dozen others Houston Dopers I keep trying to recruit. Houston ain’t NYC, but it really is a hell of a town - if you wind up making it a weekend here I’ll take you around on whichever weekend night is not the SDMB conclave.
The 30th is fine by me. But I’m thinking that’s the very last day I’ll be in Houston and any last minute problems will cause me to miss everyone. How about a two-fer; one meeting earlier, and a second one on the 30th. For the early meeting, Sunday the 16th would be good. Or if Cessandra and Longhorn need to travel back Sunday afternoon, maybe Saturday the 15th instead.
Also keep in mind that Monday the 17th is Martin Luther King Day, however that affects people’s schedules. And Manhattan, are you sure the Superbowl is on the 23rd? I was thinking it was on the 30th.
And Cessandra, I found my Rocky Horror CD’s. In fact, while searching for them, I found four other CD’s I’ve been looking for.
Ok, if it is on a Sunday it must be early afternoon. Carl hates driving back to Huntsville and hates getting home late even more. If it’s a Saturday, I can make it, no prob. Don’t know how late you guys stay out, but I’ll probably have to leave by 11 to get to Rocky. Anyone who wants to come along is invited.
