That’s a bit over $9 per gallon.
Just dropped to $3.599 in my area. I drove about 100 miles north yesterday, still in Maryland, and saw one place at $3.759, but most were under $3.70
Current average for Honolulu is $5.204, but yesterday for the first time in ages I saw a station selling it below $5. It was $4.999. Tellingly, it was in Kalihi, which is the poorest, lowest-class part of Honolulu.
Today’s report from suburban Chicago:
- $4.35 in west suburban Cook County; $1.50 cheaper than it was at its height in early June
- $4.05 in suburban Dupage County
I see a couple of BP stations about a mile N. of the Chicago border that have regular for $4.07 credit, $4.02 cash.

Prices here increased about 50 cents this weekend, with some stations well over $5.50/gal. Eastern Vancouver, WA.
Yeah, the place I refuelled on the 5th for $3.699 was up to $3899 on Wednesday. Friday it was $4.299 just like that. I went to Costco instead, where it was still $3.999/gallon.
The low-price station a couple of miles away was $4.97(cash) this morning, but the Chevron on my corner is $6.13.
I was in eastern North Carolina today and paid $3.479/gallon with a credit card for 83 octane in a 3 station neighborhood with same prices. Had there been a BP station with my Visa card affinity program, I’d have saved 15 cents/gallon.
Aiken, SC this afternoon: $3.25 at the biggish Circle K gas and convenience (big enough for a hot bar take out).
Paid $5.29 U.S. dollars per gallon today. This would translate into
£1.30 / €1.44 euro / $2.14 Australian dollar per litter.
I’ve seen some places charging over $6.00 USD per gallon.
This was for regular gas in the Los Angeles area.

DH noted over the weekend it was the first time in a long time he’d paid less than $5/gallon for regular gas. We live in California.
