Georgia has suspended the gas tax for a week. $2.35/gal walk in cash only.
It’s $2.69 here in Topeka.
$3.46 in the Southern tier of NY.
Filled up on October 7th at $3.49 per gallon. That’s the lowest it has been for a long time.
$3.19/gallon for me at my local Sam’s Club in Cicero. I feel like I’ve seen it under $3 in the past couple months.
$2.79 at Sam’s Club in NE MN
Oil down close to $5 this week so far (all the worrywarts concerned about the Middle East situation had bid it higher last week, despite it being the fall, with demand plummeting, winter gas in the offing, and China still in iffy mode).
$4.19 (cash) at Moe’s Stop in San Jose
Oil had a big day today, up almost $3 for most Western indices, with wholesale gasoline following suit, so I’d recommend topoffs before Monday morning. Here in Ohio I am fully expecting a massive 40+ cent increase Monday morning.
$2.75 in NE MN
Refueled this moening. The Lummi 76 station was $3.599, which was a little surprising. The Arco station where I get onto the freeway was pmly $3.4999 – or $3.599 since I use my credit card. Weird that a station right off of the freeway, four or five miles from the Canadian border, would be as cheap as the cheapest convenient place. Makes me want to look at Costco and Pilot.
We’re up to $2.99 now. (NE MN)
Filled up at $2.59 yesterday with “loyalty” points.
SE Texas - Most stations near me are at $2.49-$2.59. Buc-ee’s and my local Exxon are $2.39. I paid $2.19 at Kroger with my fuel points on Saturday.
Costco is $2.47. Other local stations are about 10-15 cents higher. Murfreesboro, TN.
StG
Western PA - gas was 3.45 last week. This week it went up to 3.55.
Needless to say if Iran is determined to shut down the Strait of Hormuz then you had better top off today before Monday rolls around, because gasoline may be going up 30-50 cents next week.
I pay the equivalent of $6.75 / US Gallon which is actually fairly cheap for the UK. There again my car does about 44mpg on average so cost per mile isn’t that mch worse than the average US motorist.
Apparently the oil markets had already baked in the missile flinging into the rises seen the past two weeks, and with the (2nd) cease fire now holding, oil is down over $10 for the week, wholesale gas 20 cents. However things could certainly go sideways there so stay tuned.
Yesterday, one of the cheapest gas stations in the area actually shaved off a few pennies per gallon as virtually every other station went up 20 cents or so. Interesting tactic … curious for how long the cheap place can hold their breath this time.
