3/3/26 $3.50 per gallon for regular unleaded in Will county, Illinois.
I usually don’t pay attention to it, because I’m going to buy it, but I noted it today just for this thread.
See what I do for you guys?
Last week my local Kroger was at $2.29. I filled up yesterday and the pump price was $2.45 (but I got 50 cents/gallon off with Kroger points) . Today it has gone up to $2.79.
ETA: Southeast Texas
$3.179, Chicago (within city limits, though likely one of the cheapest stations. $3.099 if you pay cash.)
Hey! I’m paying more than that in Will county!
Yesterday I filled up for $3.139 over in Hickory Hills on 87th and Roberts, also Cook County. The above gas station is a Citgo a half mile from house that always tends to be about $0.20/gallon cheaper than the gas stations in the area. Maybe even $0.30/gallon sometimes.
$3.999 today.
Still under $2.50 at the stations I frequent. ($2.47 Exxon and $2.49 Kroger)
ETA: DFW Texas
3.29 at Refuel and speedways Little River SC yesterday! I would bet it goes another 25cent in 48 hours ! I believe they are taking advantage of the consumer down here because in Nj they tax gas about 40 cents towards roads yet maintaining 3.09 from what I see…So much for southern hospitality?
Ouch! And I was thinking I had it bad!
In western PA it is now $3.65/gallon. This is up 32 cents from the beginning of the week.
It varies from day to day. It wasnt long ago Murphys USA, the lowest prices always, was 2.59.
Now almost every place is 3.21.
Mentor Ohio.
On the morning news, they had gas price averages for three counties (that are more populated than mine). I remember seeing $4.77 for one of them. They were all well over $4/gallon.
Also N. Ohio: $3.50 for the usual leading suspect (Speedway gas), a whopping 73 cents higher than a week ago.
[*This is the regional chain which wags the overall dog, as everyone will quickly follow their lead.]
My community’s average is up over $0.40 compared to February’s average. It’s up $0.90 at my usual station in the last week.
I checked the price of oil at 8am this morning, and noted it had jumped to $88/bbl. I need to fill anyway, so I headed out to my local station and got 18 gallons at $2.79/gal at 8:30am.
When I left for work at 10:30am, the same station had increased 50 cents/gal to $3.29/gal since my fill up this morning. So I saved $9.00. Probably the cheapest tank I will get for a long time.
3.39 at BP.
On my drive to work tonight I noticed some local gas stations have jumped up to $3.69. That would be a jump of 80 to 90 cents over just the last week.
Some briefly jumped up to $3.39, but have since went back down to $2.99. They seem to be trying to hold there for as long as possible but I think it’s only a matter of time. There’s a lot of volatility right now, more than I’m used to seeing. If the pattern holds, I expect $4 a gallon gas locally within the next couple of days.
Central Michigan.
That’s not right. There are just over 4 liters in a gallon. $2.41 * 4 = $9.64. A little less, because 4 liters > 1 gal.
$2.84/gal at Costco.
StG
Sigh. I passed them yesterday evening and they were $2.99 and $3.19. I spoke too soon I guess.
This March 4 price is now $3.479.
