$3.49 in Ohio. I just paid $3.11 at a new opening so that should last a few weeks until the next new station. There must be some kind of quick charging conversion in the works because it doesn’t make sense to open them.
This was March 11:
Today, March 22, it’s $3.55.
I just noticed this thread. I’ve been posting to social media about the jumps I’ve paid in the past month.
I’m near San Francisco. Here’s my recent data.
$6.099 — 22 Mar 2026. Today. (pic)
$5.799 — 15 Mar 2026 (pic)
$5.599 — 10 Mar 2026 (pic)
$4.699 — 03 Mar 2026 [from my gas log]
$4.459 — 08 Feb 2026 [from my gas log]

In this environment one needs to be topping off at every opportunity.
Tho the markets have (likely over-) reacted to more vague noise about a possible cease fire or such, but we’ve been here before.
Current situation:
$3.59 Costco
$3.89 most other places
I don’t notice every day but things seems to be steady over several days.
Steady here in south-central Kansas as well. Still at $2.99, although I did see a couple of $3.19 this afternoon. So the others will probably follow suit tomorrow.
It was $4/gallon on Friday in western PA.
I took a sick day from work today so I have not been out and about since Saturday.
I imagine it is up again but will find out tomorrow.
I topped off yesterday because it had gone down to $3.77/gallon. Still that price when I went into work today but by the time I left every station I passed was at $4.19/gallon. NE Indiana.
And, today, it’s $3.65 here. Fully a dollar less expensive than back home in suburban Chicago, but up 45c in two weeks, and up about $1.25 in a month.
Averaging $4.99 a gallon.
3.599 when I filled the tank this evening (NE Wyoming).
Much to my shock, the price at the station DH usually uses actually went DOWN $0.10/gallon today. Still right about $5, but that’s before loyalty app discounts.
Here’s a site with some good data…https://gasprices.aaa.com/
We broke the $4 barrier this morning it seems. Yesterday most stations in the area were $3.99 and this morning those same stations are all $4.19. The cheaper/discount stations are all in the $3.79 - $3.89 range still.
A month ago prices were averaging around $2.80 or so. That’s an increase of $1.00 to $1.40 in less than 30 days.
Central Michigan.
I went to Cambria Ca this past weekend - at one station it was $6.37
Makes me wonder how much it is in Gorda.
According to KSBY and The SLO Tribune, gas prices in Gorda, CA, are among the highest in the United States, reaching $7.59 to over $9.99 per gallon for premium.
They must have recently re-opened the highway.
On my many drives up and down that bit of Highway One between Morro Bay and Monterey, I remember it as having the highest gas prices I’ve ever encountered anywhere in the USA. Thankfully, I never had to gas up there.
Thanks for checking – the prices don’t surprise me!
That Big Sur station is notorious for its high gas prices. It nearly hit $12 a gallon in 2019. The 2021 story below is a recurring one.
High gas prices are not news to Gorda or travelers familiar with the area. On Oct 21, KSBW TV reported, “In July 2019 a gallon of gas cost more than six dollars. In April of the same year, we reported that a regular gallon of gas costs $11.75 per gallon.” In March 2008, ABC News reported that Gorda was “home to some of the priciest gas in the United States,” at $5.20 a gallon. The article credits the high cost to supply and demand. “Since the station is in the middle of nowhere, it is awfully hard to supply.”
My wife just back from our local Costco (!) it’s $5.70 for premium.
$5.70… at Costco.
