Down to $4.259 at the tribal station.
$2.97 at the RaceTrac station a few days ago. Most stations around here (DFW) are under $3.00 now.
Since I haven’t taken any long trips recently, the gas in my truck’s aux tank aged* out and I transferred it to the main tank. I told my wife I feel rich, cause I’m driving around on 4 dollar gas again! Hah!
*I limit it to the 4 month mark. I’m not sure how long unleaded corn-gas lasts, so I make sure it gets used somehow before my arbitrary “use-by” date passes.
$3.06 at some beaver oriented station.
Earlier this week, prices in the Wichita area dropped to $3.33. Then they jumped right back up to $3.53.
It was doen to $4.099 a couple of days ago. But due to ineptitude, it’s up to $4.299 today.
My cheap station in New Hampshire went up 11 cents to $3.79 today.
Filled up at the same place Thursday. $3.58/gallon now. Getting ready for a long trip pulling the camper, so I’m paying more attention. My spreadsheet for the trip says it’ll cost me about $100 more than last year. Not a deal-breaker, but annoying nonetheless.
Reviving the thread, as my travels this past week have shown me how much things have gone up in a month.
Near my house (west suburban Cook County, IL, outside of Chicago), regular is between $4.45 and $4.65, up about 30-50c from a month or so ago.
In Green Bay, it’s around $3.70 - $3.80.
Little River SC refuel 3.59 …..Ty DJT
Update from west suburban Chicago: after hovering around $4.50 a gallon for some weeks, it’s now between $4.69 and $4.79. The two gas stations which are a couple of blocks from my house both raised their prices by 10c earlier today.
Northeast Ohio. 4.24
That was from the start of this thread. Today I paid $4.51 on the New Jersey Parkway. Slightly less at a gas station closer to home. Costco is less but I wasn’t near a Costco.
Down to $4.859 from $4.999 at the native-owned station today. Costco and the closest Arco were $4.999 Saturday.
I was driving across New York today and I was dreading having to fill up my tank at some point. But I was astonished when I drove through Fulton, NY and all the stations were selling regular at $4.09. With my Kwik Fill loyalty card, I paid $4.06.
$3.89 in Wichita today. Up 20 cents in the last couple of days.
$3.59 to $3.75 around here (W edge of DFW).
Diesel is another matter though. I’ve seen it as high as $5.89 in places. When I was replacing our truck, I calculated it would take roughly 400,000 miles to break even on the diesel version (including maintenance and the price of the diesel option). I can’t find that old spreadsheet, but I wonder if a break-even point even exists anymore?
Not anymore, the most recent price jerk yesterday went up FORTY more cents, to $4.59. I managed to top off right before it did, from a station 5 miles from my place. In these circumstances I have to pretty much top off every chance I get, as the post-jerk price sag is minimal now.
Just checked. As of today, 9/16, the average price for regular gas in Chicagoland is $4.75 per gallon.
Cheapest here in Scotland is £1.70/litre ($8.70/US gallon)
Diesel is £1.95/litre ($9.92/Gal)
