I’m visiting family in northeastern New York this week. Gas is hovering just below five dollars a gallon. The only exception is Sam’s Club where it’s $4.78.
$5.15 in the western suburbs of Chicago.
$4.45 in central New Hampshire.
This will show you what wholesale prices are doing almost real time. Changing the timeframe on the chart to 5D is more useful than 1D.

If you really want to be a smartipants, the gas stations change prices fairly quickly but not immediately. If you see there’s a big move up in futures in one day, that will likely be reflected in higher pump prices the next day, so don’t delay if you need to fill up. Conversely, it there’s a large drop in futures, wait 24 hours.
I wish it was that “cheap” in my area, also in NH: the only two stations within 5 miles of here are $4.67 and $4.77 for regular.
I just looked at Gas Buddy and the cheapest nearby is 4.69; most places are closer to 5.00.
Last week, we were on the west coast and gas there was a dollar or more higher. AND they charged 20 cents a gallon more if you paid with credit. I’m more used to seeing credit the same as cash, or maybe 10 cents more.
I remember a few years back, when gas last spiked to over 4.00 a gallon, the news reports were saying that credit card companies were making a killing because of the increased purchasing.
$4.19 up in northern WI - that was 3 days ago when I last looked.
Southern PA, near the MD line, (east of Gettysburg):
Regular: $4.70
Mid: $5.10
Premium: $5.50
Diesel: $6.30
Over on the MD side of the line, where I filled up today:
Regular: $4.60
Mid: $4.90
Premium: $5.20
Diesel: $6.00
PA is typically about 20 to 30 cents higher due to our stupidly high gas taxes.
The two gas stations are about 4 mi apart.
I filled up in MD this morning on my way to work.
I was driving through Plymouth NH on Route 25 earlier Today— one place had gas 4.79 and two others 4.69.
Sam’s today was $4.24. Most other stations were $4.24-$4.29. I didn’t pass Costco, so I don’t know the price there, where it’s generally cheaper than Sam’s.
Murfreesboro, TN.

I haven’t seen New Zealand in this thread, so for those ‘suffering’ from prices above $5 per gallon, all I can say is… you don’t know how lucky you are.
NZD 3.12/l at current exchange rates works out at around USD 18.47/g which explains why I walk the mile to work and back.
Being remote brings some advantages but cheap fuel ain’t one of them.
WHOA!
$4.09 this morning in SE Texas.
You’ve got the exchange rate upside down. A Kiwi is worth 64 US cents. So that’s about $7.50 per gallon.
It’s still a lot, obviously - but at least, since a much greater proportion of the price is tax, which tends to be fixed per liter rather than a percentage of the price, you are less sensitive in percentage terms to increases in the wholesale price of oil.
Prices are similar in the U.K. and Europe, also in the region of $7.50 per gallon.
Dude. You’re on an island. Where’re ya gonna drive anyway?
Up to $4.89 in Syracuse. Was $4.59 last Saturday and $4.79 last night! They keep raising it daily and sometimes a few times a day.
Currently in Arlington VA, between US$4.48 and $4.68 per US gallon.
Next week may be able to report from San Juan PR.
Hmmmm. My math says $3.12 /l NZD is about $8.00 US per gallon.
Good grief, I’m an idiot for not spotting that.
My only defence: it seems like it’s costing that at the moment…
$4.759 yesterday afternoon.
