Chicago forecast is for a few degrees F below that night.
I hate you. We are in the middle of a record-breaking cold snap here. New Year’s Eve it will hit a low of -22°C (almost 8 below zero on the Fahrenheit scale) – but that’s in the city, and I’m out in the northern burbs. The coldest low on record is -20°C and that was in 1944. It normally wouldn’t get much below freezing.
When my brother lived in California years ago near your area, my parents and I visited him and he took us to a few vineyards in the Napa valley. I remember my dad exclaiming about how it was somewhere around 80 degrees F and it was February!
2F, or -16.7C
FWIW, that’s pretty cold for around here. Mrs. Homie grew up here, and she tells me that an average winter will see maybe 10-15 days with temperatures below 20, maybe 5-10 of them with temperatures below 10. She can count on one hand the number of days she’s lived through where it dropped below zero.
The forecast right now is for -27C on New Year’s Eve.
It’s okay, they can just put on more clothes. Won’t even notice how cold it is
13C with lots of wind and rain here in Belgium.
It should be 48ºF at our house at midnight.
29F - that’s pretty cold for Georgia.
If I’m reading it right, a fairly tolerable 55° F. here in Tucson, AZ. The wind chill doesn’t seem to be a factor.
1 degree F.
Right at freezing at night, low 40s F during the day.
Hey. First time poster. I just had to contribute to this thread.
Air temp: -12 F
Wind Chill: -33 F
Moustache icicles are imminent.
Northern MN problems.
60F/15C at midnight. Which is 3F/2C below average. Damn cold snaps! Brrr!!
17°, wind chill 4°.
Not that it’ll matter to me - I usually fall asleep by 10. And I have an electric blanket.
44°F at midnight, 2475ft. elevation in the San Bernardino foothills.
Midnight - 7°F
Jan 1st high temp - 17°F
Water temp - 37°F w/ “Light freezing spray likely.”
If we get the forecasted snow, I’ll be able to make snow angels (again), on the beach…in my bathing suit!
According to forecast, 20F on New Year’s Eve night, but 12F on the morning of January 2. By our (Alabama) standards that’s crazy cold.
And my New Year’s resolution was going to be to bike to work every day…
