How do I get permission to post in the Marketplace?

I published a short ebook and I’m broke as shit, so I was hoping to post it in the Marketplace but I got a message that I don’t have permission or something to do so.

You need to be a paying member, I believe.

Wait…people actually pay for membership here?

There are a few perks of paid membership. Posting in Marketplace is one of them.

Yes. All those people with custom titles, Charter member, or Member below their username are paid members.

Moderator Action

Moving thread from General Questions to About The Message Board.

ETA:

If you are interested in becoming a paying member, go to your user control panel (USER CP), click on Paid Subscriptions (on the left side, towards the bottom), and follow the on-screen prompts from there. If you have difficulty, please feel free to contact a moderator or an administrator.

Proudly. (I’m not allowed to discuss the perks publicly. )

Oh, come on, bobot, everyone already knows all about the squid, anyway. No need to be coy about it.

Squid – pish posh. It’s that sweet goat benefit you need to keep quiet about. Not enough goats to go around.

It’s the best $14.95 you ever spent in your life, trust me.

(no refunds, however)

I wish to register a complaint. I’ve been a paying member for years and I have still not received my goat and squid benefits!

Be careful what you wish for … cue the squid

Mine was broiled, have you switched to BBQ?

Dude, the initiation has really evolved since you signed up.

Now they make you apply the dry rub to the squid while it’s still alive.

Just The Man trying to keep us Charter Members down…

Everyone always wants their squid pro quo.

Unless there’s heavy demand, and you have to settle for an amateur quo.

To hell with the squid. You can have mine. I was told I could have my goat and eat it too!

Oh my! You really should have read the fine print on that contract.
