I was thinking of doing it recently. But I have to admit, it is not a necessity.
But I noticed some members have an avatar. I am a Charter Member. So it seems I should have the ability to do things like this. Yet for some reason, I can’t do it. Or maybe I can’t figure out how to do it.
(1) Can I create an avatar, and if so then, (2) how?

Okay, I figured how to download an avatar. But I can’t find a picture small enough to work. I am looking for a small peace sign postage stamp. Does anyone know where one is? Or how to create one from a bigger jpg picture?
Well, I apparently did it somehow. But when I chose ‘Save Changes’, I got a message ‘Upload Failed’. What does that mean? And am I all set?

Note: Membership status is not connected to being able to have an avatar.
(And you’re merely uploading an avatar, not creating one. Some of us went to significant effort to create ours.)
It looks like you got it working, but just for future reference, most paint or photo applications will let you resize the image, either to a specific x,y pixel size or a percentage of the original size.
